I believe in God, that He sent His Son to die on a cross, a sacrifice for my sins, to pay a debt I could never pay and that that is the only way to get to heaven. I believe in Hell too, as the place prepared for the devil and those who willfully choose not to accept God's free gift of salvation through His Son. I go to church, tithe, participate in ministries, in general, live a great life! If I get to the end of my life and discover that I was wrong, what have I lost? On the other hand, if I live for myself and never accept Jesus' sacrifice for my sins and die only to discover that what the bible says is true, I've lost everything! If you are bound and determined to blow through all the stop signs God places before you, He will honor your decision. He will not force you to go to heaven, because He loves you that much, but PLEASE don't try to take others to hell with you. Get real. Stop the acting. Stop parroting what you hear others say. Check it out yourself. Just one more stop sign.

I've been pondering this all day because just thinking on how much fighting has taken place because of religion.
Also thinking that if we put as much time and energy into saving our planet something that we See, Touch, and hear everyday and provides us food, water and shelter, as we do "Spreading the Word" and Worshiping a God that cannot be seen you cannot touch and cannot be heard. but of cousre I guess theres no profit in renewable energy.

As the son of a Christian priest I have observed Harijans being converted to Christianity on inducements. Those days T Vs were not present. A Bishop assigned to this job would visit the Church and he would place on a Black Board pictures of Jesus Christ in action and talk about His noble preaching and love. At the end clothes will be distributed to the poor people. Many will choose to get converted to Christianity anticipating conversion rewards but it was not based on faith, but on need. What happens afterwards? They will refuse to join the congregation as they were still segregated. The Church stood on a hill and the cemetery was in layers – up to down. The bottom layer was allotted for these converted low cast Harijans. They were known then as Pulayas and Parayas and were living in abject poverty – sometimes eating animal carcasses and left-overs. Gandhiji named them Harijans and gave them some deserving consolation. I put this question in this context!

I was raised without religion. I absolutely respect and honor people's religious convictions, but I do not hold them myself. I know for a fact that people are very tolerant of each other's religious views, where I'm from, but they get upset and confused by my absence of religion.

Once while at a Church I heard someone say that if you want to definitely go to Heaven you must profoundly believe God exists, then you have to regret every wrong thing you did when you were alive and puff, you find yourself up there, living a whole new life of pleasure and fun abreast of Him. On the other hand, he also avouched that those who don't believe in God won't eventually make it to Heaven, even if they were great ppl in their past lives. Summarizing: No matter how atrocious the things I did on earth may be; I'll go to Heaven so long as I believe in God. But there's no way I can go to Heaven in spite of being such a cool person who did nearly everything right in his life just because I didn't put my faith in God. How fair is it?

Trust me, you are about as safe with a condom as a rehabilitated crack head is in a crack house. Those things break. I know from experience. The only true way to be safe is to stay away from premarital sex and cheating in marriages the way God intended. 2Timothy 2:22 says, "Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." If you have heard Christ calling you, please come to Him, be saved from all sins, and gain eternal life(Romans 10:9-13 - that if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved...) Condoms will break, soon.....but God never fails!

I am a catholic and in Genesis it tells us that we can eat all plants and fruits from the bushes but doesnt say anything about eating meat. Should we take this literally and not eat meat? What does this mean? Did God not want us to eat meat? Give me your oppinions. Thank You.

…and will Muslims hijack planes and fly them into the alien’s space ships? I can’t think of what Hindus and Buddhists are likely to do but I’m sure it will be something equally crazy….

L. Ron Hubbard was not a particularly spiritual or ethical person. Did he found the perfect cult for those who believe they are more intelligent or better than everybody else?

People say that the don't believe in God because Science points out that there was a 'Big Bang', but what we know as true is not always true. If you question God, why shouldn't you question science? The world was believed to be flat, but it wasn't was it? If someone believes God isn't real because they are too caught up in science, there isn't any room to question what we assume as true.
I'm a Christian, but I have questioned my religion and God before. But I prayed one day when I was in turmoil, and what I needed was delivered moments after I prayed. Since they I have always believed God existed.
Also, my science teacher has a poster that says "If everything that was accepted as true wasn't ever doubted, we would have little hope of advancement". Isn't that true? Like in science, if we didn't question that the Earth was flat, we may still believe it today.
And still...isn't every main God in a religion, the same God with a different name? Like I could call myself Kira if I wanted

They believe that only 100,00 arrive at the top ring of heaven. Surely that number was reached long ago. Who would want to go to a lesser level? Surely they don't believe there is class structure in heaven.

isnt this rene`s philosphy of feelings that being if you believe it, it is true no matter what has been proven as ones self is thier own serprate reality from the rest of the world i.e. if you say the sky is green it's green regaurdless of what the actual truth is note: the sky color referance is a loose anology please dont focus on the anology but the point of the question i also realise that sciene proves nothing only disproves the object in question but still WHY IS THIS THE ONLY ARUGEMNT THAT CHRISTANS HAVE AGAINST SCIENCE WHY NOT TAKE A MORE OF A PHILOSPHOICAL DEBATE ON THE MATTER

Did they go to hell? Are they prayed for retroactively, even though they prayed to other gods? Will they be given another chance?
Did they go someplace else? Is there another place? If Jesus is the only answer, why did he wait so long?

if god really speaks and exists as many Christian churches say "he does" why doesn't he speak himself to us like the way he did to moses and all the prophets in the past, this makes me so mad because if he really want us to listen to him Y>>>>>doesn't he do it??since he is almighty, y does he needs to use "people" to talk to people?

Muslims say that the original versions of the injeel and torah no longer exist, that todays versions are corrupted. How can this be verified? I mean there is nothig to compare todays Injeel and Torah with if the "originals" dont exist.

Despite this there is a verse in Dueteronomy and a verse in the Gospels (or Injeel) that muslims often say refers to the coming of Mohammad.

If the Injeel and Torah have been changed, then why haven't these verses? Are you saying that out of all of these books, only these 2 verse were not corrupted? If I pull out a piece of meat and see that part has spoiled and turned green, I throw it all out. IAccording to Muslims 99.99% of the Bible is corrupt in the Islamic view. If thats the case, why not throw out all of it as you would do spoiled meat? Why claim any verses propehsize Mohammad, its corrupt!!

I am asking this sincerely, and ask for thoughtful answers hopefully from your mind, not some website.

"Say: If all men.... will unanimously determine to challenge the Qur'an, they will not produce its equal, even if they combine their efforts." 17:88

How did mankind refuse to accept the challenge?

Either the Qur'an is truly superior and beyond the reach of any talented individual or group in any generation (and this means that it is a miraculous book), or it is within the reach of the people, but God miraculously prevented mankind from producing a similar discourse. In either case, the prophecy has been fulfilled, and the Qur'an is still standing unequalled.
