The church board has ignored the problem as well as the state organization they belong to. Who, outside the church, can you report this problem to and get results?

holding signs that belittle a man who is dead and cannot defend himself, mock things that are sacred to me, and say nasty things about a book that I consider to be scripture. Is this supposed to make me want to be a Protestant? If I were a Protestant I would be ashamed of them.

Why do you choose to believe what you believe? What impels you to believe in something that has no proof?

Please, no "I believe because I believe" or any other similar tautological, meaningless statement.

I'd like to believe that the religious are not just mindless sheep that believe what they're told to believe.

It seems I opened a can of worms by asking opinions about the words in God we trust. I will say 90% of the answers were very negative. No one seems to believe any longer. I guess it is sad to hear that the very person I stand next to anywhere in public has no God in their life. I guess that most of you no longer believe in Heaven or Hell or life after death. I won't judge any of you it's not my place in life to do so I was just wondering if any one out there believes. I have a heavy heart on this and it makes me want to cry knowing the faith is gone or disappearing from our society.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; 3 forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth.

I really don't understand this! If whites are simply 'American' then why are blacks called 'African-Americans,' and Indiginous peoples 'Native-Americans?' It's like the government, and other stupid people in our society, in an attempt to sound like our 'compassionate friends,' have inadvertently uncovered their inherent racial prejudices. If 'Native' Americans are indiginous to the land then shouldn't we simply call them Americans? If we are to refer to black people as 'African' Americans then shouldn't whites be referred to as 'European' Americans? I think it's racist to call blacks 'African.' In reality, the entire genealogy of our species stems from Africa. Shouldn't we, as civilized people, recognize the law of the land that states that anyone born on U.S. soil is simply 'American?' I know the U.S. is about assimilation, but to end racial/cultural static shouldn't we empower EVERY citizen with a strong 'American' culture? (Not MTV/Pop trash culture)...

This is a question for Biblical literalists.

Revelation 20:12-13 states explicitly that the following about judgment day: "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books."

Paul says the same thing in the Book of Romans: Romans 2:6
God "will give to each person according to what he has done." Matthew says the same thing in Matthew 16:27.

So, that means, literally, that we will all be judged "according to what we have done." Those passages do not say "according to what they have BELIEVED" - it clearly and repeatedly says "according to what they have DONE."

So, is it literally true that we are judged according to what we have done?

I see Christianity as the epitome of Western thinking and Buddhism (maybe the Tao, but Im going with Buddhism) as the epitome of Eastern thinking. Just compare and contrast the two, I would like to hear some interesting thought provoking answers.

Long ago, people used to think that the Earth is flat and if you go to the edge, you will fall off. However, in the Quran that was written 1400 years ago (WAY before the discovery that the earth was flat) it says that

"And more, He has extended the Earth( far and wide or also in the shape of an egg)" [79:30]

Also, the Holy Quran says how to trace fingerprints!

"Does man not think that We can assemble his bones together? Yes! We are able to put together he very tips of his fingers perfectly." [75.3-4]

There are also more scientific facts in the Quran if you just READ IT!

Also, in the Quran it says that creatures on other planets exist!

Just please take your time to read the Quran wisely and tell me what you think of these verses in the Quran.

Has there ever been a verifiable scientific test on God-believers to see if they are really talking to Jesus (or equivalent anamoly) or just imagining it?

If it has never been done before, what would be a good strategy/protocol? If it has been done, who did the experiment (name of PI or psychiatrist/year/institution), what was the protocol, results, and conclusion?

The argument by incredulity is insufficient. It's time to get serious.
