This is a question for Biblical literalists.

Revelation 20:12-13 states explicitly that the following about judgment day: "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books."

Paul says the same thing in the Book of Romans: Romans 2:6
God "will give to each person according to what he has done." Matthew says the same thing in Matthew 16:27.

So, that means, literally, that we will all be judged "according to what we have done." Those passages do not say "according to what they have BELIEVED" - it clearly and repeatedly says "according to what they have DONE."

So, is it literally true that we are judged according to what we have done?

There are two separate judgments. Believers are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). This judgment does not determine salvation, but rather is when believers must give an account of their lives to Christ. Believers are rewarded based on how faithfully they served Christ (1 Corinthians 9:4-27; 2 Timothy 2:5). The things we will likely be judged on is how well we obeyed the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), how victorious we were over sin (Romans 6:1-4), how well we controlled our tongue (James 3:1-9), etc. We will have to give an account for our actions, Romans 14:12 declares, “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Unbelievers are judged at the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). This judgment does not determine salvation either. Everyone at the Great White Throne is an unbeliever and is therefore already doomed to the lake of fire.

Yes but we do not earn salvation by works. And I don't believe the righteous will go to heaven and God will say, "You did this wicked thing and this wicked thing........... but you have faith so you made it in". And I think the Book of Life as talked about in Revelation is not a list of names of the saved, but instead is simply the Bible. It will be opened and God will say to the wicked, "Everything was all right here, why didn't you listen to it?"

Yes it is. Those who tell you that all you have to do is say this Little prayer and accept Jesus and yo are saved, no matter what you do, are lying to you.

You have to not only accept but cooperate with God's free gift. And that means proving your faith by good deeds, living right; feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc.
