Matthew 24:23-"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it." (alive or dead)
He is not here...we killed Him...He was resurrected.. and He is comming back.

It will be on the Discovery channel on March 4. The claim that they found 10 ossuaries including those of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and their son Judah. They were discovered in 1980. That is 27 years ago but they were determined to have nothing to do with Christ and this is why no one has heard of them. Now someone realized that because of the DaVinci Code that they could make a lot of money exploiting this. The tomb they were found in was no where in the area that Christ was crucified or laid in a tomb. Jesus, James, and Mary (though English translations) were extremely common back then. I once saw in a museum an ossuary on display that read in Aramaic 'Jesus son of Joseph'. They didn't try and claim that it belonged to Christ because they knew it wasn't. If your name is John does that mean 2000 years from now ever tombstone with the name John on it must of been your grave, of course not and that is what they are trying to pull off.

Somebody already gave you the discovery link. Yes the tomb was found over 30 years ago and has been being studied by the Jewish Antiquities Commission. The Professor heading the research is quite well known and respected. This is serious archeology. I might have to rethink my position that Jesus was entirely mythological. But if they show that Jesus didn't get resurrected and had a kid by the Mary Magdalene it is going to mess up an awful lot of Fundies.
I just love how everybody has such open minds about this and are waiting for the presentation before just jumping to conclusions about it.

Looks a little flimsy to me. They found a tomb with 10 boxes in it, labelled with various names, including Joshua ben Joseph, Judah ben Joshua, Miriam, Mariame a Mara, and Matia. Despite the fact that archaeologists date the tombs to the reign of Herod the Great (who died within a year of the birth of Christ) and the extreme popularity of the names in question, certain folks insist that the remains belong to Jesus of Nazareth and his family.
I think it is interesting that news articles on the subject refer to Mariame a Mara ("Mariame the Master") as "Mary Magdalene" ("Miriam [of] Magdala") throughout the article, forcing the connection between the two unrelated names.
Anyway, it would be nice if they could demonstrate the authenticity of the site. In the mean time, the academic consensus is that the CHurch of the Holy Sepulchre is the most likely candidate for the tomb of Christ, and 'liberal' scholars like the members of the Jesus Seminar insist that Jesus was never buried in the first place.

Yes the Word is out. Problem is the tomb they found that Jesus of Bethleham was burried in was empty. That was over 2,000 years ago. The one they just found they made the stupid statement of saying that the Jesus of Palestine was found. Humm! couldn't be possible scientifically or any other way. Oh well here we go on another side trip. Praise God! the results of Jesus' journey have been, and are still being proven prophetically.

March 4th, Discovery Channel has a special on it. The grave of Jesus and Mary Magdilene is the subject of the special.
It is likely one more forgery. Ossuaries have a long and celebrated history of forgeries, witness the ossuary of James, the brother of Jesus that was famous a couple of years ago.
No, Jesus was not married, no, Mary Madilene was not the disciple Jesus loved.
Yes, Jesus was raised from the dead, and yes, He did ascend into Heaven.
The amazing thing is the promise of the two men in white:
Acts 1:9-11
9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."

they are telling on the news that this guy found a tomb with the names Joseph, Mary & Jesus on it. they also say that they have DNA to prove that this is the holy family. Sounds like a bunch of bologna to me. They also say that it will be on the discovery channel this Sunday night.

In all likelihood a hoax.
Plus, Do you expect James Cameron, who brought us Titanic, to bother with pesky historic truth when producing a blockbuster, even a supposed documentary?
And all the names from that tomb are pretty common, so a Jeshua son of Joseph and married to Mary would be what? William Smith son of John?

It was found in 1980. Supposedly they are releasing a documentary about it on the discovery channel. Just type in "jesus coffin" in an internet search engine like Yahoo and you will be able to find articles and read about it.

It's BS, here's an interview with the archaeologist who found the tomb:
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?c=JPArticle&cid=1171894508893&pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull
The most interesting bit:
But Bar-Ilan University Prof. Amos Kloner, the Jerusalem District archeologist who officially oversaw the work at the tomb in 1980 and has published detailed findings on its contents, on Saturday night dismissed the claims. "It makes a great story for a TV film," he told The Jerusalem Post. "But it's impossible. It's nonsense."
Kloner, who said he was interviewed for the new film but has not seen it, said the names found on the ossuaries were common, and the fact that such apparently resonant names had been found together was of no significance. He added that "Jesus son of Joseph" inscriptions had been found on several other ossuaries over the years.
"There is no likelihood that Jesus and his relatives had a family tomb," Kloner said. "They were a Galilee family with no ties in Jerusalem. The Talpiot tomb belonged to a middle-class family from the 1st century CE."

It's BS. Someone is trying to make a buck by saying he has found Jesus tomb. Actually the tomb was found four years ago and no real archeologist think it has any marit. It just has some common Jewish names in it thet could be anyone.
Just think how many Mary's there are in the Bible!
