isnt this rene`s philosphy of feelings that being if you believe it, it is true no matter what has been proven as ones self is thier own serprate reality from the rest of the world i.e. if you say the sky is green it's green regaurdless of what the actual truth is note: the sky color referance is a loose anology please dont focus on the anology but the point of the question i also realise that sciene proves nothing only disproves the object in question but still WHY IS THIS THE ONLY ARUGEMNT THAT CHRISTANS HAVE AGAINST SCIENCE WHY NOT TAKE A MORE OF A PHILOSPHOICAL DEBATE ON THE MATTER

Because christrains are on the defensive.

People say that science and religion can coexsist but in reality they are involved in a war that has been waged for centuries and through the ages science has won more battles over religion. (round vs flat earth)

Since science has progressed to a point where so much can now be proven, they, christians have to back up and take the definition to a place that is completely unknowable to science.

The next thing will be that God created the big bang since there is no way to prove it, God will always move into the shadows where nothing can be proven, and man's words will be the only information about the subject which is inherently corrupt.

These were written about in the Bible over 3,000 years ago. The circle of the earth-Isaiah 40:22, Atomic Fission- 2Peter 3:10( this one was written in the first century A.D.), Ocean Currents-Psalm 8:8 Isaiah 43:16, Hydrological Cycle-Job 36:27 Amos 9:6, Jet Stream Ecclesiasties 1:6-7, Dinosaurs -Job 40:41 Psalm 74:14, innumerable stars Gen. 22:17 Jerem. 33:22 Mountains under the oceans-Jonah 2:5-6. There are many more. How could the writers of these books know these things, unless they were God Inspired!!

Why does science say that because there is no proof of God, He must not exist? There are many other theories that science cannot prove or disprove. God is as plausible of an anwer as any other theory. See if you can answer these questions. Have you ever seen a pain? Have you ever smelled a pain? Have you ever tasted a pain? How do you know the pain exists? You feel it!

I have heard this argument from preachers. It is usually not stated so bluntly but it is the pattern that I have heard. We often see it in here too. It is because they have only their rather flimsy faith to fall back on.When they are at the point that they are presenting this they will either have a breakdown and lose their faith or they will use the Satan defense where the blame any doubts on Satan tempting them to doubt. It might be best to back of to avoid the Satan trigger and let them stew the question over a bit.

God exists full stop. All things need a point of reference for existence, and once all known logical / philosophical and scientific avenues have been explored you are left with Nature. Nature's point of reference is God. I am a christian and I admire and applaud scientific breakthroughs. I do have an ethical dilema on the use of science in some respects. I read a book by Nick Gumbel, and till date he has provided the best link between science and God. SCIENCE IS THE EXPLORATION OF GOD'S CREATION.

Son...I am not sure of all you are saying but...one...Christians have nothing against science...at least none of them I know.

I do not expect, at this point in time, for science to prove the existence of God. I prefer to believe by faith. What is special about believing in something I can prove is there?

For me, there is no reason for a debate. I believe in God, what others believe is their path.

I do not say that "If science cannot disprove X, therefore X must exist." That is a faulty way of thinking.

However, I do say "If science cannot disprove X, then X ~may~ exist." It allows for X.

Whether I believe in God has nothing to do with whether science can try to prove (support, really) or disprove Him. I just believe.

Some people say that science can disprove God-however, Christians disagree with that. This is because the so-called evidence against God can be easily explained by learning more. I don't need science to tell me that God exists; I know He does. However, I am willing to explain why some theories that don't include God (evolution, for example) are at least partly inaccurate.

Because religion has warped their brains to the poit of irrationality. They see science as a threat, as something that every day disrupts their little cocoon more and more. Because they, along with their ancient beliefs are being left behind by science. Because they can't open their puny little brains to the possibility that they are wrong. I don't know, pick one.

Scientifical theories were shown to artwork, or a minimum of, there are a minimum of a few data of them. at the same time as in faith, no individual has data/data of something. and because technological awareness contradicts faith, and technological awareness is ideal (above), it implies faith is misguided and God would not exist.
