I don't believe it is a choice, it is who you are. I am Christian, but that was chosen for me at a young age. I don't think people actually choose to be homosexual, look at all the criticism you guys receive. You are who you are and I accept you all!!

I think I made the choice in kindergarten. She was "hot" for a four-year old! Pretty easy choice.

As a matter of fact, I made the choice to be heterosexual long before I made my choice to be a Christian which was numerous numerous years later! Much harder choice.

I could see how others could have both of those the other way though... I mean sexual orientation would be hard but faith would be easy. I seriously doubt I'm "normal"!

Be blessed!

I'm not quite sure what it is you're trying to find out, the wording of your question is odd and leading. You're assuming that Christians make a concious decision to be sexually oriented in either direction, and I don't think that is true.

I never faced a decision to conciously choose my sexuality. I have always been what I am.

life in this sinful world is difficult in various ways, and I tend to be non-social (socially backward) so it is more difficult for me than some. (self inflicted, but difficult non the less). What age, I guess about 17.

Heterosexuals don't awaken one day with an epiphany and say I'm heterosexual. Just as I figure that homosexuals don't decide one day that I'm going to start liking the same sex.

"Do not answer fools according to their folly,

Or you will be a fool yourself.

Answer fools according to their folly,

Or they will be wise in their own eyes.

Proverbs 26:4-5"

Does this mean I should stop quoting the Bible to Christians?

As for the question, I think it's absurd that people think that anyone would choose to be gay in high school. I had to spend 5 years proving I was straight in fear of ridicule. Good thing I like chicks....I mean I chose to like girls haha. Bunch of idiots, it's like dang yo, it's 2007 and we still think being gay is a choice, you ever asked a gay person? Morons the lot of you.

They don't believe heterosexuality is a choice. The way I understand it, they consider heterosexuality the "orientation default" and homosexuality to be a willful departure from that default. That's how they can justify calling innate, involuntary attraction towards the same sex as a "choice" while never having to explain "choosing" their innate involuntary attractions to the opposite sex.

Pirates have parrots, obviously "they" doesn't refer to every Christian in existence. Obviously this answer centers around only those Christians who fit the description (those who consider heterosexuality default and homosexuality a deviation from that default). I too know Catholics who dislike this point of view and are very accepting of those who are GLBT... I call those Catholics my siblings.

I don't know if people are taking this the wrong way... I support gay rights and equality. I have ALWAYS corrected people when they call homosexuality an illness, perversion, sin, psychological glitch, crime against nature, etc etc etc. I'm not saying I PERSONALLY believe homosexuality to be a deviation from the "default".

I'm not sure what age. I learned the behavior through media. If heterosexual lust is a "choice" I don't think it is any harder or easier than choosing homosexuality. It's very easy to sin, just follow your heart.

All beings are born heterosexual. To be homosexual is a choice. There may be some people who are more feminine/masculine, but it is not natural to want sexual relations with a being of the same sex.

Do not answer fools according to their folly,

Or you will be a fool yourself.

Answer fools according to their folly,

Or they will be wise in their own eyes.

Proverbs 26:4-5

There are five texts in the Bible that explicitly speak to same-sex activity: Lev. 18:22; 22:13; Rom. 1:24-28; 1 Cor. 6:9; and 1 Tim. 1:10 (most scholars see Sodom and Gomorrah in Gen 19 as addressing different matters). What these five texts clearly seem to say is that same sex activity is unequivocally contrary to the will of God. And when we add to these texts the biblical traditions of marriage (all unions are heterosexual), creation (‘male and female he created them’), and blessing (‘be fruitful and multiply’), the evidence from Scripture seems to be overwhelmingly stacked against same sex activity, much less affirming the sanctity of same sex unions.
