I mean come on people, the guy funding the thing is JAMES CAMERON, film maker. That's your first clue geniouses.
Secondly, your own mythology says jesus rose from the dead and floated (or flew or maybe walked up the stairway) to heaven bodily.
Then there is the embarrassing reality of having to deal with DNA from someone who was supposed to have been concieved by immaculate conception. So if the DNA of the father and son are a match, you know this isn't your man.
But I'm betting Cameron will make a fortune on this hoax. And well he should. Why should the con men at the pulpit be the only ones fleecing the gullible sheep?

EDIT
Remember the famous "James brother of Jesus" ossuary hoax? Turns out that ossuary came from the same tomb.
Something Cameron is trying VERY hard to not mention. Gee, I wonder why?

I don't know how anyone could take it seriously, considering archeologist who oversaw the excavation said it was rubbish.Professor Amos Kloner said,"It makes a great story for a TV film. But it's impossible. It's nonsense."
"There is no likelihood that Jesus and his relatives had a family tomb."
"They were a Galilee family with no ties in Jerusalem. The Talpiot tomb belonged to a middle-class family from the 1st century CE."

First, there is no evidence that the fake ossiary for James came from this location, which is in Jeruseleum. The James remains were from a cave near the sea of Gallilee I recall.
Automatically every religious authority calls the find a fake, what is interesting is that the cave or crypt where these were found was discovered back about 1990, the BBC discovered them in an archeological warehouse in 1995 and aleady did a documentary. Cameron is just rehashing it, although he supposedly claims to be the first to "discover" them. Incidently, there are no remains to test on DNA. Per the Isreali authorities, any bones found in digs are turned over to rabbis for reburial and there is no record of what became of the bones in the containers marked Mary, Joseph, Jesus, and Jesus's son. Certainly would have been interesting to test them though, and to also see if there were wounds in the bones of the one marked Jesus! Not surprising that the bones are convienently missing, after all christian tourism is one of the mainstays of the Isreal economy, and contributions from christians including support for the nation politically are vital for its survival. If a giant shadow was cast on the real life of Jesus, and he did not ascend as two of the gospels say, then the whole realm of christianity would be shaken. Don't want that to happen--we might see no need any longer to protect Israel as it persecutes the palestinians and continues to steal their lands!

I think this whole ossuary thing is no more valid than the shroud of Turin was.
Although I do find it quite fascinating how horrified 'christians' are to think that --- gasp! --- Jesus may NOT have been bodily ascended to heaven.
Have you really thought about how a bodily assumption into heaven would work? Where do they go? Up? What floor does the celestial elevator stop at? Is it before the atmosphere runs out, or before?
If it's not merely 'up' then where? Have you seen anyone else be bodily assumed into heaven? Wouldn't it follow, if Jesus truly were bodily assumed that others would follow his example? If you are gasping at the 'heresy' I'm putting forth here, why? I thought we were supposed to do all that Jesus did, and more.

No TRUE CHRISTIAN would believe this rubbish. This whole thing was done to fool you atheists, and people with week, or no faith at all. The men who discovered this ossuary back in the 1980s knew that it was not that of Jesus of Nazareth. You people need to keep digging up old lies and attempting to trick new generations all the time, because you have no real proof.

very few Christians will be falling for that junk...even if it were true, it's Christ's work and His teachings that matter, not artifacts...of course, there will be plenty of 'christians' who are attracted to that sort of thing...the same folks who would buy a lock of britney spears' hair on e-bay...it's funny, though, that you just assume that we Christians will be all agog over this....maybe your superior powers of reasoning aren't all that you imagine them to be...then again, the substance and tone indicates that you know nothing of Christ...it's so easy to mock what you don't understand, isn't it? so easy to come up with the cheap gratuitous put-down...by the way, try using spell-check if you can't figure out how to spell 'geniuses'...illiteracy in an insult against the intelligence of others can be rather embarrassing, don't you think?

Never heard of it, don't care about it. Why should I? I always find it amusing to hear from Atheists spouting some theory or other that we all should believe OR ELSE we are stupid and ignorant while telling ALL Christians that it is stupid and ignorant to believe that EVERYONE should believe everything that we do OR ELSE they are stupid and ignorant....
Not all Christians believe the same things.
Not all Christians believe that they have the ONLY truth.
Not all Christians believe that it is necessary that everyone believe the same things that they do.
Why is it that you, an Atheist seem to do just that?
