Something like 99.8% of the scientists in the National Academy of Sciences support evolution. It's such a basic cornerstone in any life science that research will grind to a complete halt if it's rejected. The Centers for Disease Control would be helpless against disease if they replaced their evolutionary model with a sin-based model of disease. You simply WON'T find any articles from a creationist viewpoint in any mainstream scientific journal. You simply cannot burn enough scientists at the stake to EVER make them abandon evolution. And if scientists ever did abandon evolution, they'd switch to something equally naturalistic.

About the only thing you might accomplish--and there's even a lot of resistance to that--is to push your idiocy on public schools. We're already starting to fall behind the rest of the world in scientific literacy, and such a stupid program would only further destroy America's technological superiority.

why do we need the bible?

My family used to be Atheists, even though my mom grew up a Christian.... when I was younger we used to attend church once in awhile but had stopped going for years.

Well, just before my grandmother passed away, she begged my parents to covert to Buddhism, which my grandma practiced her entire life. So they did.

Ever since they converted, things have been going well... my dad has made millions in real estate and they just built a new house and bought expensive cars.

But what bothers me is that they are fully in to it. They pay a monk to come give his blessing on everything they buy. They stick signs with Chinese characters over the doorways, inside cars (including mine). They have probably spent thousands on the monk's services.

I personally think religion is crock of BS. I am still a full fledged Atheist and think this whole thing is silly.

What can I do to snap my parents of out this stupidity????????

Who are the We in the Qu'ran? Isn't the God of Old, we do not understand, the Powers and Principalities? Governors in the "spirit" world? Are they perfect like God/Allah, and never make mistakes?
And weren't the people of Old fearless? Fighting wild animals almost daily in order to survive? So God/Allah
had to be hard with them? And hasn't God/Allah
eased our material burdens today, so we can make time for the spirit? But we waste our spiritual time running after
more material gain and cheap thrills?
And still, we blame God/Allah for our own wasted lives. How we can say God/Allah doesn't Love us, when we are so
insufferable, and worthy of death? Yet the Almighty
patiently waits, like the good Father of the Prodigal Son.
Until we tire of our foolishness, and return to our
spiritual Home?

Why do you and the creationists argue about which propaganda should be taught in schools, when neither subject has anything to do with leading a succesful life?

I was raised Lutheran but have doubts about religion as a whole. I can't say I believe in God, but I can't say that he doesn't exist either, straddling the fence, so to speak. My son goes to church with his father and believes in God. To him it's black and white. I won't rock that faith. If he's got it, good for him. However, when he was 5 his stepmom told him that if you don't believe in Jesus you will go to hell. My son asked me if I believed and said that he didn't want me to go to hell. I couldn't lie to him, but I couldn't rock his faith either. So I went to my old church (hadn't been there in over 15 years) to ask the Pastor how to approach this situation. All he did was try to convince me that God exists. I told him I was not looking for a reason to believe myself, just how to handle my lack of faith with my son who has faith.

Why couldn't he help me objectively? I walked out the door in tears for the lack of compassion and understanding from a "man of God".

Centuries ago Word of God was ' spoken, messaged, communicated ' etc. to some and thus the Bible was written...beautifully so.

Why today if a person expresses that they ' hear ' the Word of God ' spoken, messaged, communicated to them...to their soul that others would find them ' odd ' or disrespectful to God and Jesus Christ.

What would make any ' messages ' received centuries ago any more real or powerful than ' messages ' received today ?

A person today would say..." How do you know where that ' message ' really came from? How do you know that that ' message' is truly from God ? ". Did others centuries ago question those same ' messages ' received? Some of those very powerful ' messages ' are what we read in the Bible today.

How would a person know if what a ' message ' or communication received is from God or from some ' other lower source ' not of God ?

What if a ' message ' received had a person feel more aware, inspired, Loving, warm of Soul ? True message

...volcanic activity? Why is it so hard to except the probability of a worldwide cataclysm, when it has already happened so many times before?
If one claims to believe in an eternal spirit? Or believes there is no afterlife? Why does the prospect of death
frighten you so? Either way, your problems will be over!
Or is that what frightens you? Shaitans lies of a vengeful
and punishing God?

I mean, schools should teach both sides of the argument (even if one side has all the evidence (like evolution) and the other side doesn’t).

Let the children decide what they want to believe.

The very premise of monotheism is that the creator is not only the creator, but also the no.1 big boss in the universe. And why? Because he himself says so and he is the creator, right? My question is what if one fine day the creator himself started telling us that, well, I am the creator and so far I have been assuming the position of biggest boss of the universe, but for some reasons only my omnicient mind can conceive, and clearly not explainable to you humans, I have decided to step down and appoint someone called so and so in my previous position, even though he is not the creator. Then what will happen to monotheism? Will you refuse to listen to what your creator says? Or will you obey him?
