My family used to be Atheists, even though my mom grew up a Christian.... when I was younger we used to attend church once in awhile but had stopped going for years.
Well, just before my grandmother passed away, she begged my parents to covert to Buddhism, which my grandma practiced her entire life. So they did.
Ever since they converted, things have been going well... my dad has made millions in real estate and they just built a new house and bought expensive cars.
But what bothers me is that they are fully in to it. They pay a monk to come give his blessing on everything they buy. They stick signs with Chinese characters over the doorways, inside cars (including mine). They have probably spent thousands on the monk's services.
I personally think religion is crock of BS. I am still a full fledged Atheist and think this whole thing is silly.
What can I do to snap my parents of out this stupidity????????

I was watching Judge Judy the other day and she told one lady that she could tell the woman was lying ... because it didn't make sense.
Neither does your little story. Your grandmother practiced Buddhism all her life, so you said, but your mother grew up a Christian. Before all that however, you said your family used to be Atheists. It makes no sense at all.

Its pretty hard to convince people to give up on their faith. It seems that they have a successful life and probably give credit to their faith for their earthly success. If you are an atheist, in my view you are no better off then they are. If you think religion is a crock of BS, then why are their views disturbing to you. Leave them alone. According to the Bible you are all in the wrong boat anyway.

I'd say the only thing you can do is drop subtle hints about ideas other than buddhism. They may never change. Atheism is not very popular unfortunately.

Buddhism is like atheism-lite, though it has its own charlatans. Religion is a crock of BS, but you have little hope of changing your parents obsession.

seriously i have never heard of anything like this in Buddhism
are you sure that is what they are ?
but anyway if it is ... then even Buddhism by definition is atheistic as in they do not worship a God
but if they are happy then why worry about what they do ?

Unfortunately for you, absolutely nothing. And to let you know, I have a similar problem with my family. I bring them logic, they bring me blind faith. I show them reason, they show me tradition. I have no more stomach for such games.
So I finally realized if it brings them happiness and a sense of security, then so be it. What may be foolishness to us is a comfort to them. Are you so willing to take that away? Give them that respect, friend.
Seek knowledge for knowledge is power; power is freedom; freedom is peace...
Peace be upon you...

They, like you, will bow down to a Mighty God some day. You have inherited their stupidity but you just choose a different religion.

Buddhism is not incompatible with atheism. If it makes them happy, it isn't hurting you, and they don't get down on your beliefs, don't sweat it.
