The FACT that neither side can evolve to the point of understanding that neither side will back down proves to me that anyone who contiues trying to convine the other of their point has denied evolution of thought!

Right on!
Evolution is by far not a proven science, and creation is only proven to religionists, so why get bogged down in the ridiculous debate over information that has no bearing on any childs future career?

Here's the deal. Us scientists, when we go in the pursuit of knowledge, we don't consider anything else. No politics, no religous implications, just a description of the universe according to the scientific method. That is one based on facts, to find the actual truth, a truth that can be tested and proven every time. From this method came theories like evolution and gravity. A scientist couldn't care less about what happens in Church. But in science class, the children should be taught science only. Sure there are alternatives, but not scientific ones. Not ones that can be tested and are based upon facts. Evolution is as scientifically sound as Gravity, yet evolution is attacked because it conflicts with biblical accounts of the universe. Yet scientists don't press for religion to be taught at church or in a world religions class, because religion is based upon belief. Science is not. So shouldn't we leave science class to the scientists?

Most people feel it is important to be generally educated about the world. It is not possible to understand anything about life on this planet (the study of biology) without being educated about evolution (the theoretical paradigm of biology).
Further, if one wishes to pursue any one of thousands of careers in biology, it is important to study evolutionary processes. I am in conservation biology, hoping to protect some of the world's vital natural resources for future generations, and I use evolutionary concepts every day in performing my work.

If you want to have a successful life as an anthropologist, biologist, geneticist, geologist, paleontologist, or zoologist, you should learn the facts about evolution.

I think they just fear that they'll loose control. The only evidence they have is the terribly outdated Bible. And I'm speaking as a creationist. I believe in evolution though, it makes a lot of sense.

Because school is about learning FACTS to build up a groundwork of knowledge, and if ID is let in schools, then children are going to be learning things which are wrong. And then if they grow up to be biologists there'll be no working antibiotics for ANYONE. It really is literally a matter of life and death.
