Centuries ago Word of God was ' spoken, messaged, communicated ' etc. to some and thus the Bible was written...beautifully so.
Why today if a person expresses that they ' hear ' the Word of God ' spoken, messaged, communicated to them...to their soul that others would find them ' odd ' or disrespectful to God and Jesus Christ.
What would make any ' messages ' received centuries ago any more real or powerful than ' messages ' received today ?
A person today would say..." How do you know where that ' message ' really came from? How do you know that that ' message' is truly from God ? ". Did others centuries ago question those same ' messages ' received? Some of those very powerful ' messages ' are what we read in the Bible today.
How would a person know if what a ' message ' or communication received is from God or from some ' other lower source ' not of God ?
What if a ' message ' received had a person feel more aware, inspired, Loving, warm of Soul ? True message

Soooo..." Abdul ", " Luckbeet "...A person who " hears " and is messaged the WORD of God today might simply be schizophrenic or have mental illness.? Interesting. How can ' mental illness ' be differanciated from feeling the Glory of God's WORD ? Really wondering.

This is difficult. I still believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and in the future. In the Bible He was a God of Miracles; He still is. I also believe in modern revelation. Revelation does not necessarily mean the person heard a voice; the person could have been studying the question very hard and sincerely praying for an answer, only then to feel a very peaceful feeling about the decision he chose. I consider this to be revelation.
I also believe that everything (and I mean everything, including thoughts) good comes from God. So if you have a thought somewhere a long the lines, "Oh, I should go to Susie that her hair looks cute today," or "I should ask Bill how he is and if I can do anything for him...," it should be considered a prompting.
I'm not sure if I answered anything...

Hebrews 1:1,2;"God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;"
Now that the canon of Scripture is complete, any and all prophetic messages or utterances must agree with the Word of God. That's how you know if a message truly is from God. Warm fuzzy feelings are nice, but they can't be the sole arbiter of what is true.

Nobody had heard of schizophrenia then.
An example is the prophet Samuel, who heard voices whenever he went to bed. He took them to be God, but seeing as they told him to do pretty violent things, my guess is that they came from the inside of his screwed-up head.
There's no real way to tell if your message is from God or a result of mental illness (or from Satan, I guess). If you see a bright, white light and angels calling your name, and if other people see it too, then chances are it's God, unless somebody dropped a few tabs in your drinks.

First, I must say...

I know have the Prophet gift. God gives me messages as HE chooses to.
I know a false prophet has messages. Some parts may come true later.
Though their messages can seeem true, and even at times a portion of the message may come true....but they are not sent from God.
A false prophet will give half truths.
The Bible is TRUTH. The longer I am here, the more I see that Bible as truth. It doesn't lie. People do. Satan does.
Satan gives messages too. His messages come through those that are not really with Christ. Not Christ's prophets. And Satan messages can be total lie or a half truth.
When someone claims to have messages that are from God, it BETTER always line up with the ways of God and HIS WORD.
God has given me messages for people, when he chooses to.
I am to point all to him, the One that raised me from death. Jesus Christ. :) :)
And all glory goes to HIM.
I have had an experience with a false prophet. It was a friend who was trying to do what God has given me to do, through him. But her messages are not from God. And they were proven false. They never lined up with HIS WORD. That sittuation with that person was a case of envy. Every needs to get into their purpose from God, and not try to put on another suit trying to immatate what you may not be annointed to do.
Every one has a special purpose, iof they want it fom God.
I feel sorry for those that try to claim they have a message from God, but yet they are not sent.
The Devil gives dreams and visions too.
Test all things, and test all spirits for not all things are of God. Does it point away from HIM or TO HIM??
As surely as God is alive today, HE can give messages as HE chooses to. But if it is from HIM, then it will point to HIM and his wise ways for our specific and special life sittuations for us.
God is outside of time, and yet walks with all those that dare to walk with the One that sees all, from the Begining to tha Ending, even if none can see HIM...just yet.

Time will tell wont it. read what i wrote. It happend but do you think people will acctually believe it. Ya right. But if I keep it to my self I will be held acountable. Yell it from the Roof tops. This is about as high on the roof as i've climbed.
