Why did he assume that believing in God and not believing are a 1-1 chance? If anything, There are thousands of Gods to believe in, so belief in a particular God would mean there is a 1/1000 chance that that God exists. Therefore you will probably go to hell if you pick him. Anyways, in light of modern science, the chance of God's existence could be infinitely small, in which you'd have to use L"Hopitals rule in order to calculate...getting into Calculus here, but anyways the point is it's not a heads or tales thing because the chance that God exists and the Chance that he doesn't are not one to one, especially if you rule in the other numerous equations. Plus, if there really isn't a God and you believe in him, spending all your life doing his bidding, you've wasted your entire life, meaning infinite loss. So even if it was a 1-1 chance that God existed, you do have an infinite loss, which is the total wastage of your life. Their, mathematically and logicallys trounced Pascal. Right?

I do no understand the purpose of religion.

religions are just beleifs. there is no truth to any of it.
if there was truth to religion, there would only be one religion
no one aruges to that 2&2=4 or that water freeze at 32F
so I think it is fine if people want to beleive in what ever they want.

hey dears

first of all im a muslim girl and i believe that the purpose
in our life is that god only created us to worship him
and he's dispensable from us without his to us
we wont be here
second:i honestly felt like an animal when i read your answer in my question "the purpose in your life"

i mean god gave the human a head to think
and to worship him..
not just to live our life like that just for our needs!
so why wont you open your eyes
and know the truth ?

and one more question
how can you prove that the life and people had not been created by god?

peace all

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and
body in hell.
Ecclesiastes 12:7
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it.

My minster has gone off about horoscopes saying how he hopes we aren't looking at them and how bad they are and stuff, from the Christian perspective, why are they bad? I thought it might be because you are putting faith in them rather then just God, but, most of the time I read the Yahoo! one, I feel like I'm reading a fortune cookie.

What if someday through science you were guaranteed to live forever on Earth. But you had to throw your Bible, Quran, etc away in order to receive this treatment. Would you do it?

If a person feels that they've heard the WORD of God...how could they truly tell from what source that ' message ' came from ?

If after hearing that 'message' the person felt brighter of soul, joyed, more Loving to themselfs and others, caring, patient, inspired, mind / soul felt more clear, more open of heart and Loving with God, Jesus Christ. . .

When asked that on this site reply would be "What would make them any more special ?" The words mental illness, schizophrenic (hearing 'voices') are replied in some answers.

When someone felt that they are hearing the Word of God how would one know that it is the True Word or of false source? That they feel joyed and more Loving with others and God or more sour and skeptical with the world...would that be the indicator ?

What if 'voices' heard were not literal voices as humans speak...but ' voice ' was one more like a ' message ' , hug or Loving ' whisper to your heart/soul ?

Difference between mental illness and True WORD ?

Will the Pre-Tribbers be the first to "drop their pants"?
The Christ said that what we see now is but the "beginning of sorrows"! We have not even passed the 5th Seal. The time of the Great Earth Upheaval. And there
are still 2 more Seals to be opened, and 7 Trumpets
to sound. Each bringing more death and destruction upon foolish man!
The BEST is Yet to come.

It is not accurate to call it that and by changing the title of the book you change its whole meaning which is something the book itself explicitly says not to do.

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. " - Revelation 22:18-19

If you believe that the died anointed, are now alive and active in heaven, how dose this fit with Rev 6:9, which states that they will be at rest until their number is full?
And 1 Thessalonians 4:16 which implies that the anointed who die will be resurrected but will not be introduced to Jesus until a later date, when they together with those who have survived will finally meet the Lord all together at once.
Because Paul speaks here of Jesus descending from heaven and them meeting him in the air and not in heaven I can only conclude from the way this passage is worded, that the anointed are resurrected back on earth once their full number has been reached.
In fact if you look at the first few words of Thiss 4:13 you’ll find that the first century Christians were under the impression that if you had died before Jesus’ arrival, you were in a sad situation most likely because you would not be there to meet Jesus on he’s return but Paul assures us thay will not miss out.John 21:23
