And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and

You've answered your own question with your scripture excerpt Ecclesiastes 12:7 "...and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." This proves there are answers for all those who seek and directions for those who truly wish to follow.

Just to add in response to another answer posted re: this question. The Soul and the Spirit are not the same thing. There is the Body and there is the Soul and Spirit that is housed by the physical body. The Spirit is what connects us to God while Our Soul is responsible for conscience, decisions, and desires, hence it is important to keep your souls clean of unclean things and ways, because it is the soul that is judged not the spirit.

God Bless You All!

The spirit goes back to God, because that is God's breath of life, but you, The body goes to dust from where God created you and the soul is who you really are that goes to be in front of God if you are saved or to a waiting place to be judge by God on the second Resurrection. It's better to be called in the first Resurrection but you most be saved first.

I am convinced that the soul does live on. I have had many experiences with different loved ones who have died. They are very comforting, never frightening and always loving. Just where my darlings now reside is a mystery that will be solved when I join them.

NO, because the soul is SPIRITUAL. You won't find it in any anatomy book. The biblical passage refers to the body and the spirit. This is what the devil is after.

the soul/spirit is not a provable thing.

and the bible is fictional cult nonsense, so using it as proof of anything is like using Harry Potter as a science book.
