Atheologist? Interesting, as I have never seen that one before. But, the wars "waged in god's name" are waged by man. I don't that it can be put any simpler than that.

Now, I have read the bible, and I don't recall anywhere in the new testement of your bible where jesus told his people to wage war in his, or "his father's" name. Granted I don't subscribe to the teachings in the bible, I seem to remember him talking more about "faith, hope, and love are some good things he gave us, the greatest being love".

Unless there was a footnote to that verse stating "only to other christians, and you should wage war on all others". Maybe it depends on the version you read.

Dude, religion is a great excuse to brainwash the masses and get them to fight for your profit. Oh, ever notice how all the wars were waged in the names of a thousand different Gods? You evangelists really ought to think before you write. I would love to have a full on debate with one of you...crush you so completely under the proof of science.

You do pose a very provocative question. Indeed it seems strange that men and women are willing to die for a religious cause if the reason for that religion is a complete falsehood.
I cannot imagine that so many Jews and Christians would sacrifice their lives for some mythical God.
I Cr 13;8a

Another question along these lines seems to pop up now and then.
"Would you be willing to die for your God?"
My response is simple. It would be extremely noble to die for my God but I prefer to live for Him eternally.

if harry potter isn't real, how do you explain all the books being sold in his name??

just because humans BEHAVE in a particular illogical, hateful way, it doesn't mean that a god exists because of it. using war as proof of god is pretty messed-up. go get an education.

You questions are getting me to really think. I've always been of the opinion that this entity called 'God' is somehow , in some way, real, just that he is also evil and we'd be better of not worshiping him.

Exactly! I've been looking forward to the day you came aboard, Church Lady. God MUST be real since so many wars are Pascal's wagered in his name (chug, chug).

If atheism is true, then why doesn't the Bible say so??

Well, I'm not an atheologist whatever that is, but it's all because in general, people in power don't like people who don't think the same way they do. (about Divinity or anything else for that matter)

Even though god is not real, there are plenty of god-believers that are willing to kill others in the name of their god.

I do not fear god. I fear the god-believers.
