I ask this same question about meaning or purpose in life once in a meditation. The answer came clear as a bell.

It said I have placed you here to learn the true meaning of Love. What ever it was that was answering then told me something that really set me back. It said that I felt the way I did about certain people because I did not understand the true meaning of love. I protested and said that I did my best to love all of the people who were deserving of love.

It replied "yes that is your misunderstanding. You see love as something that you dole out in tiny little portions here and there to people who you have judged to be worthy of it. This is not love at all, it is only judgment". This stopped me dead in my tracks. I suddenly realized that what it was saying to me was true. This realization brought me to tears. It went
on and told me, "You treat love as though there is some shortage of it. It is not something that you can run out of. The more love that you give, the more love that there is in the world. Its that simple. The only way that there can be a shortage of it is if you hoard it and keep it to yourself."

It went on to explain, that "this is what Jesus was trying to tell you when he asked you to turn the other cheek, to judge not and to love your neighbor. He made no exceptions in these things that he requested of you. Why are you making exceptions, and judging some as worthy of love and others as not? Jesus fully intended for you to apply this love that you are to all, in a universal manner without any judgment of any sort". By this time the tears Were flowing freely. I was crying because for the first time in my life I Understood what the message Jesus left for us in the bible actually meant.

This has become my truth. I can't say what yours is for sure, but I have a feeling that it is probably similar.

Love and blessings

Hello dear,

My purpose in life is to try and be a good person and not to attack anyone (or any animal) verbally or physically. So yeah, I am a vegetarian by religion. I believe in a life of simplicity, without greed. I refrain myself from attacking other people’s beliefs and religions, as I am supposed to by religion. That to me is life.

You said you think we are ‘like blind and deaf people’. I think you should watch the way you put forward an argument. That was a cruel thing to say to those who are actually deaf and blind. Why do you have to use them as a tool to prove a point?

Peace.

We were created from evolution. Me personally, I was created from an embryo.
My purpose in life is to live life to the fullest, because I know that I'm not getting another one. You are extremely insulting, not only to us, but to people who are truly blind and deaf. I think what you believe is 'sooo' wrong. Go get a life, and wake up and smell the coffee.
How dare you put 'peace all' at the end of that insulting and rude paragraph. You are the lowest of the low.
By the way, That Church Lady, we can't worship satan because we don't believe in Satan. Don't you get that being an aethiest means that you don't believe in god, and in turn, can't believe in Satan either?

We were not created by god, we were created by evolution. There is no purpose in life except to live. My purpose is to make my world better for my children and their children until the world ends. And I don't care if you don't believe in what I believe, cause I don't care what you believe either and I think it's "soo wrong and that you are just like blind and deaf people.."

There is no evidence that we were created at all. I believe we are the necessary result of mathematical truth. You on the other hand, are begging the question. Calling people names like blind and deaf is a poor substitute for evidence. If you have evidence present it. If you don't then engaging in hateful name calling isn't going to convince anyone.

I am fully capable (together with my friends and family) of providing my life with purpose.

Religious people are blind and deaf to the facts as well. Anytime u can believe 3 can go into 1 or the bible is infallible then u are also a victim of falsehood.

Hiya,

Thanks for the nice post (cept for the "you're blind and deaf" bit at the end)

My purpose in life is making the world a better place because I was here. I volunteer at several places. I give to my extended family and my friends.

No, I wasn't "created". I came here through a long series of natural processes (think "snowflake" but on a very large scale involving millions of years).

Hope that helps!

Ok,

great questions,

1 my purpose is to love my family,

2 I wasn't "created" I just was the luck of conception,

3, So I'm wrong, blind and deaf? Wow I wanna party with you and become religious because of peer pressure to not be wrong, blind and deaf.

Well, I would say that we were not created, but that we evolved like every other life form on earth. We are born with no purpose in mind and no future mapped out for us, and it is up to us to create our own purpose, and to experience life while we have it. I think it's kind of sad that you can't do that for yourself, and that you need to look for purpose outside of yourself. I'm truly sorry.

I couldn't imagine living like that.

I can only hope that this trait that is so prevelent in our species will dissapear over time, and that people will continue to evolve until religion is an embarassing memory from our past, a crutch that people needed until they learned to walk on their own.

I had to find this one after reading #2

No purpose, just to be here and make it better for the next generation.

I do not think we were created, that is something to make you feel special and loved.

If everything must be created, how was this god created?

We think you are brainwashed. If you tell a child something enough times it will become true, even if it is not.
