I have heard from several people that during Lent, you can do whatever you sacraficed on Sundays. I was just wondering if this had any truth to it, or if this is just what weak people do.

Religious beliefs aside, what is the difference between a couple that has been together their entire lives without ever being married, and one that has?

If GOD had meant for man to fly he would of made him with wings. Many churches opposed avation some even calling it the work of Satan. The same thing with social security cards and segragation quoting many Bible verses. Now for Atheist, I am 40 and was taught that Nebraska Man was evolutionary fact in High School. It is now a hoax. There are many holes on evolution that need to be plugged before it holds water. Can we agree that as Christians and Atheist if evolution and carbon dating became a stable solid science that we would all accept it? I.E. Almost all Christians believe in dinosours. We disagree about the dates they were alive but we don't debate them. Can we agree to that? (sorry for long discription)

When it advances, there is darkness; when it retreats, there is light. The bondsman vacillates with it as shadows vacillate with the sun. Have you not looked at man? Sometimes you find that he is ignorant of his own qualities and praises them, while he recognizes their faults in others and criticizes them. At other times you find that a person knows his own nature and criticizes it, while praising the same in others. He vacillates between protection and disappointment. If he encounters integrity and protection, he is correct. If he encounters lack of assistance and desertion, he errs. The key to ignorance is being satisfied with the knowledge one possesses, and placing all one's trust in it. The key to knowledge is the desire to exchange one level of knowledge for a higher level, together with divine grace and guidance. The lowest quality of an ignorant man is that he lays claim to knowledge which he does not deserve; his most common characteristic is ignorance of his own ignorance, and the most extreme aspect of his ignorance is to reject knowledge. There is nothing whose affirmation is the reality of its negation other that worldly ignorance and greed. All ignorant people are alike.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL

- well if someone broke into my house and was hurting my family, I'd KILL THEM and I'd be JUSTIFIED in doing so. I can think of many situations where KILLING would be perfectly acceptable behavior.

Ok ok ok I know what's coming... some brainwashed fundy freak is going to say, "The correct translation is not "kill" but "murder""

FINE!!!!

"THOU SHALT NOT MURDER"

You just shot yourself in the foot with this one... SUDDENLY GODS LAW DEPENDS ON MANS LAW. So, if your government says murder (or abortion) is ok, then IT IS OK.

IF YOU ARE outside the jurisdiction of a state, then ANYTHNIG GOES!! And god says it's ok to murder OR kill anyone you want.

which is it?? You can't have it both ways..... but that never stopped you from trying, did it?

there is only one truth, but we all have a different experience of it? Just because one person sees things differently than another person doesnt mean that there is a right way or a wrong way to percieve things. One reality, one truth; many perspectives, many interpretations; all percieving the one thing. How different can we really be?

I just asked a question asking why the teachings of a peaceful man named Christ have been used for so much violence throughout history. The response:"It's the Muslims who are violent!" I was talking about history, because Christianity was a very violent religion. No one answered why it was so dang violent. And P.S. Eastern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism have never had religous wars or non-stop violence of the extent Christians did.

Some people say Shakespear is a pen name that he got from the bible. The name Shakespear has 10 letters. One combination is a 4 and a 6. Now go to Psalms 46 and count down 46 words - the word is shake. Now count up 46 words and the word is spear. I wonder if that's a coincidence or true?

According to Gen 26:34, Esau married Judith, a Hittite; and Basemath, also a Hitite. Since they were a source of grief to Isaac & Rebekah, he took a 3rd wife, Mahalath an Israelite (see Gen 28:9).

However, when reading Gen 36:2 & 3, Esau married Adah, a Hittite; Oholibamah, a Hivite; and then Basemath the Israelite. What am I missing? Thanks for helping me.

There are a lot of us. People who believe 100% in the divine message of Christianity (love ye one another), but reject the miracles. Don't need 'em to believe that the message is divine. They weaken the impact of the message. Can we be accepted as full-fledged Christians?

When Jesus did his miracles people thought they were magic too. Criss preaches a message along with his magic. In the Joan Osborne song "What if God was one of us?" she said, "Would we recognize him?" What do you think?
