Yes it is because the Ego drives us to do what we have to do or even what we don't want to do.

It is our Soul that will fight to stop us from doing what we should not do

So it would depend if you dismiss your Soul to feed your Ego

Because the Soul tries to gain personal Growth

And the Ego does not like change of thought or lose of control.

I listen to my Soul and I dismiss my Ego : )

It is the balance of Good verses Bad the Yin & Yang : )
The Soul verses the Ego lol

You have to have some ego, or you wouldn't survive. You have to have some confidence and pride in yourself before you can help yourself or others. It's only bad when taken in the extreme. Even then, I wouldn't call it the root of all evil.

Only if you mean; the ego is responsible for the idea of evil as it's commonly understood., and not that the ego is evil.
