Just look at all the people, born and unborn that were mudered by God, according to the bible. Obviously, He approves of murder.

Youre making the assumption that all killing is murder and that simply isnt true.
And Gods law most assuredly does NOT depend on men. It was written from the beginning of time. Just because men say its ok to buy and sell black people, or to kill an unborn baby doesnt mean it is just or Gods will, very far from it.
No matter where we are no matter what kingdom or nation we are in, Gods law is ALWAYS in effect and you are responsible for your sin!

I don't see any difference between Murder or Killing you are still taking someone's life no matter what the reason or how you can word it "Dead is Dead" !
We have Earthly Laws
Then we have
Spiritual Laws
We pay the consequence for the Earthly Laws here on Earth
When we die and go to heaven we then have to pay for our Spiritual Laws broken on Earth in Karma
And no we don't go to hell we create our own hell
For Spiritual Laws broken
We are our only Judge and Jury
We way it all up
And then we go back into the next life to pay back the Karma of what we did.
Like if we murdered or killed a person in one life our Karma from that would be maybe to go to jail in the next life for a murder we did not commit that could be why so many inocent people are in jail not for the murders they did in this life but the murders they did in their last life.
Or you may go into your next life and be murdered in the same way you murdered someone in a past life.
It is all a bit technical but that is how I look at it : )
Love & Blessings

Goodness sake, take a logic class.
The first written laws we have record of were created in the Middle-East by Hammurabi. They were religious laws because there were no secular authorities.
Why would God depend on man's RECENT definition for a law created in Israel society (religious government, not secular)?
The law WAS religious in nature. Man's modern definition of what murder is has nothing to do with it?
What Christian bit you? I'm not religious, but I strongly urge you to get over this as it has biased you beyond your ability to see how silly your arguments are. Not that people, or Christians, or other groups don't "try to have it both ways", but your argument has nothing to do with that except in your own mind.
Do some research first, as well. It doesn't help when we have to do it for you.

THIS IS THE BEST QUESTION IVE SEEN SINCE I CAME TO YAHOO AWNSERS! i was just thinking the same thing, if somebody hurt my family and i killed them, i believe god would not hold me on the same level as somebody who robbed the liquor store and killed the employee for not giving up the money fast ebough, US soldiers kill our enemies to protect the US(our family), would you call that murder, of course not, IN THE BIBLE god sent men on several occasions to go destroy an enemy, theres a fine line between killing somebody and murdering somebody

The verse is more accurately translated as "Murder." Other parts of the old testament assign the death penalty for other sins.
The New Testament, however, makes it less permissable to kill, not just murder.

The correct commandment is "Thou shall not murder".
Which would be premeditated murder. Killing in self defense or time of war is not murder

Do you want to know what is ok to humans? Of what is ok to God?
If you want the human answer, then you will get a variety of responses and you can choose whichever one you like. If you want to know God's view however, that is different.
Can you imagine God changing his laws or standards to conform to what we little humans (that he made) think? Of course not. It doesn't matter what our laws say, in God's eyes. His standards are his standards and they are what he holds us to.
Any time there is a conflict between God's law ans man's law, we are obligated to obey God rather than man. It is what Jesus and the apostles did, and we are to follow their example.
I can only choose for myself however, if I will obey God's laws and I can not force anyone else to obey them. So, for example, I will not ever have an abortion. And I get to choose that. I can not prevent anyone else from doing so because, you answer for you and I only answer for me. We all have free will... But God's standards haven't changed.
God's standards only matter though, if you choose to obey him. If you do not care if you obey him, then what difference does it make?

>>You just shot yourself in the foot with this one... SUDDENLY GODS LAW DEPENDS ON MANS LAW.<<
Why? Don't you think the Church can figure out what constitutes murder?
