Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. [Psalm 104:5]
The earth which he hath established for ever. [Psalm 78:69]
&
The earth and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish. [Psalm 102:25-26]
The heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [2 Peter 3:10]

The Earth will last forever AND it will perish? There should be a new book entitled Holy Oxymoron.

Well now that just doesn't make any sense. Why would God send all the good people to hell and let villainous monsters like Hitler and David Koresch and Geoffery Dahmer into heaven? How can this be? I could go on and on and........what?

OHHHHH! Atheists?

That's completely different (not really)

There are some assumptions that that aren't necessarily true. I'm honestly interested in learning about different religions and cultures. But I once asked someone I believed to be a Wiccan about her religion and she started yelling at me really bad.

Here are the guidelines--
1. He wouldn't purposefully mess them up to make your life miserable and "teach you a lesson". Like, if you asked for a new car, he wouldn't steal it from your next door neighbor.
2. There are no limits to what you can wish for.
3. He promises that (assume this is a true promise) you wouldn't suffer in hell--that he'd personally keep you away from the fiery pit.

Answer honestly! ;)

Besides being disrespectful, is it supposed to be bad luck,? A curse that follows the mortal remains into the after-life,? Some kind of religious belief? Or what? And where did this originate?

Well I find this just horrible! What are these gay people supposed to do if they break a leg or something? Being gay doesn't make you invulnerable, why would Christians want to be so cruel? Seeing all those porr gay people with broken lags hopping around because they aren't allowed to have crutches, that's just plain mean!

Oh.......Churches?.........well now........that's completely different (not really)

Now, I'm sure that this is going to be a controversial question, I am as what I would consider a non religious person and am reading the left behind series. I am currently reading The Mark and I'm having trouble with these books. Would people say they have been written by the evangelical right because although they have an interesting slant on the whole revelation thing I can't help but be concerned with how these so called christians come across in terms of actual christian beliefs that are continually reinforced throughout the books. I'm not talking about within the context of the books because I'm reading them to get the ideas that fuel christians in the real world. I'm interested in peoples responses to this and I must say that I am finding the books quite entertaining if a little bit basic and what I'd describe as a book for the beach. Anyone care to comment? :o)

Every religion is true one way or another. It's true when understood metaphorically. When it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you're in trouble.

Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?

Leaving Christianity was the best thing that ever happened to me. I feel more enlightened than ever since having left the church. I am wondering because I saw the creator of "Veggie Tales" in an interview and I felt so sorry for him. Such an honest, hurting man who just feels pain and insecurity for having grown up without a father, and cannot accept his self worth because Christianity is in the way. I was in a similar situation, and Christianity just made me feel worse. There's a guilt trip for people who just really need a psychologist and work out personal issues, but they feel guilt for wanting to be happy and free-taught that these things are wrong
Im an ex Calvary CHapel attendee.

by Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan We often question God's ways. But given the chance, how would we do things differently?

The Problem:

You are given an island where several tribes live.

By nature and culture, these tribes are exploitative and belligerent. This results in much suffering on the island, caused by war poverty and prejudice.

They have been living this way for centuries without any sign of improvement.

Your Assignment:

To try to improve this society.

To teach its members to live together in harmony and reduce suffering to a minimum or eliminate it entirely.

To create a healthy society.

Your Resources:

You have all the resources that a highly advanced technology can offer.

You have the entire island under surveillance and can see what is happening in any place at any time.

Seriously. Have you ever went to a quiet place alone and said, Lord if you are real (He is) as some say You are, will you show me? If you are the One true God and You really died to save my life from hell, please show me the truth, because if I am wrong, then that means that unless I accept You, I will spend an eternity in hell, without You. If you really want the truth with all of your inmost being, then ask Him, because He hears. In faith ask Him to forgive you of your sins and open your eyes to Him. Jesus says: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened." (Matthew 7:7)
