God loves us so much that he calls us his children. Like a father who enjoys his Kid doing silly and naughty things. Does God ever laugh or enjoy like us? We have been created by his image but nowhere it is mentioned that God has a sense of humor. Is he that serious?

Just another survey.

You don't believe in God, or
You don't want to believe in God?

First, let me speak my mind.

As been said by Hot Carl, it's all parsimony...or....something......Anyways, basicly an atheist would find all the logical explainations before believing in magic. So I had to ask, do Atheists merely do not believe in God, or they do not WANT to believe in God?

So anyway, yeah here's my survey. Answer honestly.

I have an open mind (even though I'll admit I dislike the Christian god for a number of reasons). I'd like scientific provable proof that
the god is the Christian one.
I want none of the below:
Bible Verses-Using your book to confirm you book is weak.
Statements like look around you-Yes I see we might have a
creator but I've yet to see anything like a little sticker saying "Made by Jesus".
Statements like How'd we get here than?-uh...perhaps by ANOTHER God! Yours isn't the only one thought up before.

I mean how does a flower know how to become a flower from a seed, How did things evolve to become what they are and continue to become. How does a baby human form out of some gooey stuff? Everything is made out of nothing! Where does creation come from?

Hello

I have noticed that what ever happens, there is a theme of...
Rock music, heavy metal and motorbikes increasing.
If I think about this, this will be on television.
It may be where I walk, there will be someone sitting there with 'Harley Davison' on there clothes as I think about this issue.

I am dying from an illness and like heavy metal music.

I have had other things take place in accordance to a theme of horror, death and destruction previously. I would have a state or indignity, humiliation and embarrasement. A feeling of worthlessness would be premoted by extremily embarrasing conditions that were de-meaning and degrading.

This seems to be changing into heavy metal, rock etc.

My body happens to be dying from exhaustion. I get low body temperature readings of 34.7*C or 94.4*F when I wake up and feel very week,
I have what seems to be low reflexes, part out of body expierences, I can hear things outside that I can't awake.

What do you think will happen?

Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, Let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the earth. K.J.V. -----

The Internet is one language. It is capable of governing every thought and every action of man. Perhaps, in speculation, heaven is an all konwing state of being. Where we all are somehow capable of knowing every thought of another human being. Like in a sence of telepathy. If you believe in such things. The internet is possibly headed that way. Could we somehow, by creating the internet, be playing God in the way that society is judging itself. while Living with technology on the all knowing and seeing internet.
Just a thought.

Do they really believe that they are the only ones who will experience an afterlife? Of the billions of people whom God has created on earth, do they believe that only those who follow their own particular views will be accepted back into the bosom of God?

I'm an Agnostic (or as some atheists would call a "weak atheist"). I've gotten into an argument recently with an atheist. He stated that Christians were all ignorant. I said it may be true that believing for a fact that God "definitely" exists is ignorant, but told him that so is believing that God "definitely does not" exist.

He replied that Atheism is a "lack of" faith in theism and that it didn't reject anything. He continued to state that a false thesis statement can't have a false antithesis statement.

After reading in Wikipedia I became aware very quickly that he was talking about "weak atheism," and not "strong atheism." Strong atheism is what most people stereotype atheists as being (rejection of God).

Before replying please check out this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weak_and_strong_atheism

With our argument and the Wikipedia article in mind - do you think atheism has become a blanket term for all nontheism? If so, is that good or bad?

I can swear on anyone including my mom that this has happened to me. This happened to me when I was in Sydney, Australia in 1995. I was working in a shop at the counter. A graceful looking Indian man with long hair and beard came directly to my counter and said, by looking at my forehead he can tell that I will become a big yogi. I was bit fascinated by that since I already was interested in becoming one. To convince me he did this. Looking at me he wrote something on a paper. He folded it and gave it to me and asked me to open this later. He then asked me to think of my favorite color, lucky number and a flower that I like. I thought of picking the wrong ones but finally decided to go for the correct ones. Once I opened it, I was surprised to see the exact matching answers. I have never revealed my personal details to anyone at any time. Atleast not when I was in Sydney. Is it possible the Guy was reading my mind? I still have no clue. Can you please explain this? No mocking.

I was raised Presbyterian. Now am non-denominational...simply Spiritual. I often hear the phrase, and much on this site lately, the phrase..." What are you giving up for Lent ?"

I know that ' Giving up for Lent ' is the concept that a person gives up something such as a favorite food, favorite past time etc. in honor and thought of when Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for the pathway of us.

Yet, what does the one actual word " Lent " mean ?
.

Usually I'm really creative and imaginative, but this week vacation sort of made me lose it. Call me crazy but without school I 'm so bored, and I have nothing to do except read and watch tv and play on the computer. So i decided to work on this project for Social Studies. We have to pretend that we are a teenager that has left Egypt for a 40 year horuney to Canaan, and explain what happened during that time period. I wrote everything up to there, because truthfully I can't imagine spending 40 years in the desert, or anywhere else. I wrote about Moses, the Red Sea parting, how he got the Torah on Mt. Sinai, and how God said he would return them to Canaan if they followed his laws. I have to write about what they ate, wore, did, etc. I'm a girl and in my textbook and doesn't describe anything that went on and even the information they provide is about the men, how they took over the family did pyramid work etc. So I would be 45 any ideas?

Okay let's say it was proven that a god does exist...why do
Christians assume this also proves Christianity is the truth.
Do they forget all the other religions in the world?
You want to know why I dislike Christianity so much
and yet ignore Pagan gods and Hindu gods?
Because the Christian god is the most intolerant, hateful,
and destructive god ever thought up. Instead of doing the
resonable and sending people to Heaven/Hell by morality
he instead decides where you go by what you believe!
And anyone who disagrees is as the Bible says to be stoned
and hated by all believers and eventually damned to Hell!
That's why I hate the Christian god.

Name one faith in modern usage that does not speak of any sort of enslavery, murder, persecution, unlawful execution or otherwise, and does not use guilt against others who do not share said faith. I bet you can't do it!!
