Let's assume there is proof God exists...so how do you know it's the Christian one?

I have an open mind (even though I'll admit I dislike the Christian god for a number of reasons). I'd like scientific provable proof that
the god is the Christian one.
I want none of the below:
Bible Verses-Using your book to confirm you book is weak.
Statements like look around you-Yes I see we might have a
creator but I've yet to see anything like a little sticker saying "Made by Jesus".
Statements like How'd we get here than?-uh...perhaps by ANOTHER God! Yours isn't the only one thought up before.

Let's get two things striaght...
1. I'm not flaming anyone I'm merely asking for proof that the Christian god exists.
2. The things I dislike about the Christian God is that he is intolerant,cruel, and only
allows you to get Heaven by beliefs (not actual morality) But THESE ARE JUST MY VIEWS AND OPINIONS! OKAY?

The universe is complex and probably required a Creator. But which one? It seems that all cultures throughout human history have recognized the role of a Creator God.

The Creator defined by the North American Native Americans only asked that humans live in harmony with all nature. In exchange, the Creator provided plants and animals for humans to use as food, clothing, shelter, and medicine. Early Native Americans showed their respect and appreciation to the Creator by making small offerings of tobacco.

The Creator God defined by Hebrew scholars, 6000 years ago in the Middle East, was a jealous, and often cruel God. He demanded that humans make sacrifices of animal blood in order to appease Him, and set out Old Testament laws of behavior that often required the stoning-to-death of your neighbor for sins as minor as eating shell fish or working on the Sabbath. These laws remained in effect for over 4000 years until Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire and commissioned the first Bible from a collection of Hebrew scrolls and stories of Jesus. Religious scholars of today claim that the Old Testament God decided to change his original requirements for animal sacrifice and for stoning-your-neighbor-to-death for disobeying His written laws. This God, rather than having his human scribes re-write the laws on new scrolls, he decided to have His only Son sent to earth to be tortured and murdered.

I believe there is a Creator God. I just believe that his personality is more like the compassionate Creator God of the early Native Americans. If He turns out to be the cruel Middle Eastern God, and He throws me in Hell for thinking He is more loving than He really is, then I’m willing to accept with that fate.

There is proof.

It is called the Bible. Unless you have read it how can you say that what is in it is not true?

Let's just say you have read it, How can you explain the events that were foretold in the Old Testament that happen in the New Testament? The coming of Jesus, that Jesus, the Son of God, would live a sinless life and yet allow himself to be sacrificed for you and me? He taught love, peace, self-control, forgivness, helping others, being kind to everyone, to spend time with the Father almighty everyday (if you have kids, this will make alot of sense to you), to do go work in the name of God, etc, etc, etc.

What about the power of the word? I used to be like you, doubting the word, but never really read anything in the Bible. Start there, then come back and tell us what you doubt.

God allows you the free choice to do what you want to, when you want to. You are held to those free choices in heaven. Make an informed decision. Don't let others, including Christians, loosely divide the word of Christ - which Jesus also warned of. You read it and know it, then you can speak from intellect.

BTW: God does punish for a lack of morality. You should read the Bible (and then you'll be able to confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Savior, the only way to enter Heaven)

Just by looking at the beliefs of Christians, you will find all of the prof that you need. Christians believe in Christ and God. The 'Christian God' (as you so unthoughtful stated) is believed to have created the word. He did not speak to Muhammad. His son was Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to take the place of all other sacrifices. Therefor we know that what the Jews believe is outdated. But before there was Jesus, God sent a flood to destroy all non believers (such as your self). Noah saved two animals of all kinds. I know you have heard of the story of Adam and Eve. That is very commonly known.

I think if you really look at the world, ignoring all of the porn and everything, you will find that there is only one true religion. And that religion was commanded by the one true God.

I just want to make this clear. I do not mean to poke fun at any of the other religions. You must have some very strong belifes, but the only faith out there for me is Roman Catholicism.

There isn't a Christian God. There is simply God. Christians worship Him. There is no scientific evidence for anything about God since science by definition is the study of the natural universe, within the framework of time, space, matter and energy, which God is not part of. Nothing supernatural falls within the purview of science.

I'd say if there is a god, it's most likely a fat, large breasted fertility totem-looking woman. Those are the oldest representations of god created by humans, in a time when our minds were not as developed and our brains not quite so cluttered. Stands to reason humans were closer to the divine, if there is such, when we were more animalistic and less sophisticated. So I'll go with the old Goddess of Willendorf. She has the others beat by thousands of years.

Good question. You have to look at evidence and what holds up. The bible has been fought against throughout history and still stands. No other book does. You have to believe in truth, which is historical. If you study how the Bible came together it's really hard not to believe in it. Plus, if there is a God, do you think he would be able to communicate with us? tell us how to live? how the he created the earth? so is there a book that does this?

The Bible is actaully made of 66 books by 40+ different authors over 1500 + years with no conflict. that is proof of teh Bible's validity.

But the Bible does have proofs that sceince has confirmed.

For instance George Washington died by the doctors beliving that the Blood was bad in his body and that it needed to be let out. Of course he bled to death.

The Bible however said thousands of years before that life was in blood. Too bad the doctors of George Washignton didn't know the Bible.

Other items mentioned in the Bible before science said they were true.

1. Vapors are really water
2. The Earth is a sphere
3. The accurate prediction of Israel going to be captured by Babylon over 100 years before it happened and for exaxtly how long

All of these facts have been confirmed by science but was first in God's Book.

That is proof that the Bible is correct. Show one prediction that is false and you would have somethign to prove that the Bible is false. But no one ever has.

And exactly what would you consider "proof?" You've already rejected the Christian God, and nothing is going to constitute acceptable evidence as far as you're concerned.

There's only one thing that will prove Who God really is, and that's when you stand before Him. By that time, proof won't matter to you any more. . .but your rejection of Him certainly will.

1) Science doesn't prove things. Fact in scientific terms: 'confirmed to such a degree that it would be perverse to withhold provisional consent.'
2) The Christian god cannot exist, logically, with all three properties: Omniscience, Omnipotence and Benevolence. (Having all three is contradictory. It's like having a square circle... it can't be done.)

I heard a Muslim presenter say this my friend. He said the greatest miracle that Jesus ever did was the christian faith. He continued by saying how there has been billions of Christians to walk the earth after Jesus Christ came into the humble little town of Bethleham. He came from a poor family and was hardly known for most of his life. Yet when Jesus Christ came on the scene and died. Even then he was relatively unknown. The fact that Christianity is still the world religion statistically speaking with 2.1 billion followers world wide taken from (http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html) is a most amazing miracle.

My second proof with just logic as I can see your not into the bible logic... is this his followers... Now don't laugh my friend - maybe you have issues with christians but I promise you were not all ignorant fools.

Jesus early followers when they were with Jesus were humble fisherman and ignorant for the most part. Funny enough Jesus even told them this :) But when Jesus died these men who ran away as he was taken away to be killed by the authorities became fearless preachers very soon after wards.

What I mean is that these early Christians moved by the outpouring of the Holy spirit were transformed heroically. Before they hid indoors but now boldy preached Jesus Christ message of love and salvation. As you can imagine and is a irrefutable historical fact this pissed people off! It annoyed people so much that millions of Christians were matyred for there faith in Jesus Christ.

If Jesus is unreal as many people believe why are so many humans willing to die for there belief in Christ even to this very day? You can not label billions of people driven by belief in Christ as stupid and ignorant. Can that many people be wrong? possibly...

The early church especially was a time when the Roman empire for instance among others... tried to exterminate and have complete genocide of all christians. You could argue logiaclly it was very stupid to be a Christian then. Yet it did not seem to matter how much Christian blood was shed they kept on praising Jesus christ. It is also documented historic proof that early christians were fed to the lions singing and praising God fearlessly.

So like the Muslim tv presenter acknowledged one of the greatest proof that the Christian one is the greatest is the dfact it still exists and number two so many people have sacrificed there lives then deny Jesus Christ is Lord.

On a personal level though it is hard to put ones personal experience as proof so to speak has transformed my life. I know he is real by the peace he puts in my heart and no matter what storms may go on around me his peace remains.

I wish I could explain how much Jesus Loves... but i don't have the words my friend.

Sadly there is NO proof of god..
And I hate when people pull out the bible and
start reading it to me whenI doubt them.. Because
that book gives me more reason to not believe.. I mean
It's so illogical. The bible states that god created all. right?
But no one was around to see god.. it doesn't make since and never will. religion is just a way to make people feel safe because
even though it's never been proven.. It hasn't been proven wrong either. and they can hide behind that.. With me.. I chose only to believe things that are 100% true. =/
