Name one faith in modern usage that does not speak of any sort of enslavery, murder, persecution, unlawful execution or otherwise, and does not use guilt against others who do not share said faith. I bet you can't do it!!
(This is for fun, I was asking my friend this and she was stumped)

In regards to Wiccans...what about the 'burning times'? And Baha'i in Iran....there was persecution and wrongdoing..on other people's parts. When I say persecution and all that, I mean as the religion being the victim. As for Buddhism, why is the Dalai Lama still in exile? As for Shinto....the idea of it is good so far...

...as I said before, as THE RELIGION BEING THE VICTIM

So far, I credit Asatru, Shinto and Unitarians as those who are not in the victim pool. I used to be Wiccan years back and there were always those who spoke of things that never happened to them but use it anyhow. I practised Shinto for about 7 months. Right now I am...undelcared.

Wiccans -- and I cannot stress this enough -- WERE NOT KILLED DURING THE "BURNING TIMES"! And any Wiccan who claims they were is grossly misinformed, in my opinion.

Quite apart from any argument of (a) how many people actually died during the Inquisitions, and (b) how many of those people were witches of any sort, Wicca can only be reliably traced back to the early 20th century at the most. I highly recommend the book "Triumph of the Moon" by Ronald Hutton as a good, solid, non-Wiccan approach to the history of our fatih.

As for naming any one faith that doesn't speak of persecution... good question. I think that all of them CAN -- human beings being what they are, every religion has some incidents of its members being discriminated against, witnessed to, or otherwise treated badly. However, most Wiccans (the mature ones, at any rate) won't pull the "poor us!" card based on the mythical death of members of a religion that didn't even exist at the time.

The Burning Times was against Wiccans not by them. Wiccans don't believe in trying to convert people to their religion, and since most think that all gods are representations of the Lord and Lady there's no reason to try to convert or to persecute other religions. Also the Wiccan Rede is "An it harm none, do what ye will." Wiccans aren't allowed to intentionally hurt people physically or emotionally, and haven't enslaved, persecuted or unlawfully executed anyone.

Of course I can name some, my religion for example, Asatru...and there's lot's of others too. Buddhism, Shinto, Wicca, etc...

If your friend was stumped she obviously doesn't know about very many religions that are in practice today.
