My cousin was in Korea for a while, and came back full of enigmatic responses. Listen to this, and see if you can understand.
An American goes to a Zen monastary to learn all there is to know about Zen and the way of life of the monk (excuse my ignorance if Zen's spiritual leaders are not called monks...I don't know what they are called.) Anyway, he sits down with the eldest monk who begins talking to him about Zen. The American keeps interrupting him saying 'In America we do this..." "In America we do that..." etc. The monk gets up and offers the American tea. When he comes back he puts a full cup of tea in front of the American, while he himself has an empty one. He pours some tea into his own cup and then pours more into the American's cup. It begins to overflow, and the American protests. The monk looks at him and says..."how do you expect to drink my tea, if your cup is already full?"
your thoughts?

I've noticed that a lot, even most, people these days are very quick to criticize anyone who passes judgment on anyone else. There are a few things I'm trying to reconcile regarding this and I was hoping I could get some feedback from you good people:

1) Is judging someone as being "judgmental" as bad as being judgmental itself? In other words, aren't people who criticize others for passing judgment guilty themselves of passing judgment on the original "judger?" (I'll admit, if you can follow that one, you're pretty good lol)

2) Why are some things/people ok to judge? Racism, sexism, disrespect toward the enviornment, white supremecist, etc will be condemned immediatly by the same person who, 5 minutes ago, accused the traditional Christian person of being too judgmental regarding abortion or sexual morality.

I'm just curious for some insight. For full disclosure, I'm a just-slightly-right-of-center, sometimes-practicing Christian. White male, unmarried, late 20's.

I had this dream that I walked into the livingroom when I was a child, and I saw Mum playing with this box filled with stars and galaxies, and it was 3D and even 4D and was capable of allowing me to think on a 4D plane.

The galaxies and stars seemed to be real and could be rotated as though it were on a movable plain.
The colour was so incredable and I was trying to have a go of it and my mother siad "No! This is for adults only!"

What did this mean?

Law is created with a purpose, therefore Law requires a creator.

#1 Since there are laws which govern the universe and give it it's personality, gravity, light, ect... there must be a legislator, who is it? God. Laws serve a purpose, Laws must be created by an intellegent creator.

Example: Who wrote The Declaration of Independence, Did someone put a pen and paper into a box, closed it and shook it and The declaration of Independence was the result, Even if the box shook for a billion-trillion-trillion years? Could that be possible or probable?

Is their a pivotal moment in your life that caused you to change your beliefs? Do you feel that God has let you down in one form or another? If so, do you feel things would be different if you were not let down? What age were you when you changed your beliefs? Please share and help me understand.

Have you been to the Politics sections lately? They are worthless. Nothing but people calling each other Repuglicans and Democraps, and conservatives baiting liberals, and vice versa.

It's boring!!!

Is there some way we can stop R&S from descending into the same? Does every post *have* to start with either athiests or Christians baiting the other side?

Can't anybody ask a genuine question of the other side, to try and understand them better, rather than ask "rhetorical" questions that have no other purpose than to score a cheap shot?

Is it possible?

Isn't it a valid question? If nothing created the universe wouldn't I be able to create a super universe? Because I have more then nothing in my hands.

If you are an atheist, what would you say to God if you found yourself standing face to face with him. I know you don't believe but please humor me and please be serious. In your mind, hypothetically speaking.
