So how the heck would I ever stop my wife from believing, and stop my kids from believing?
And what would be the use?

This isn't a taunting question, I am just curious what would be the reasoning.

Just encourage your kids to learn as much as they can. Teach them to use reason and logic. Teach the fundamentals of logic. Your wife will be tougher. If she wants to engage in the subject, use the arguments that convinced you. Keep things civil and constructive.

Encourage them to learn and study and think for themselves. That is how most of us came to become atheists. If you try to force your beliefs on them, you are no better than the radical fundamentalists.

Other than that, just try to lead a sane, rational life and be a good example.

I call bull$hit here. If you can be CONVINCED to be atheist, then you aren't one. It's a self-discovery thing, not a forced belief system like Christianity.

Man, you really missed the boat on that one!

What would be the use? How about having some rational people to talk to? Raising rational children?

Just ask them about what they believe. Eventually, you run into contridictions or something so ridiculous, they have to admit it doesn't make sense.

You don't have to anything, when they see how much easier it is to not believe in God they follow you.

I don't want to stop you believing. I don't care about what you believe. I don't want you pushing beliefs in the schools or political realm.

They should believe as their consciences dictate, just as you should.

you do not need to try to convinve them to stop believing, for they are believing in the right thing, while you are straying from the right path.

Why try? It is wasted time. It will happen on its own anyway.
