the gods we humans have invented are very human indeed. they not only are human but act, talk, and do exactly what we humans do.
is that the reason why our human gods/allahs are so authoratarian?

I asked this question... blah blah blah... and like 20 people told me that i was going to hell and that i was going to burn for eternity. Christians are so pathetic, trying to scare me into believing God. One person said (i copied and pasted this is what she really said)

You will continue to sink into the slime of humanity. The reason that you do not feel that bad is that your conscience is already dead. You do not realize that you are dead in sin and if you do not repent, when you die , you will be trapped in that dead body and realize it. You will feel every worm and spider and beetle that crawls on you. Consider all the people in the news lately that have died suddenly then think about what you are going to do for eternity trapped in death with demons tormenting you.

how mean. So... why are christians always trying to scare you into believing god??? And one time my christian friend flipped out because i swore on the bible. OMG! LOL

thanks for all the answers

The more wealth a spiritual person accumulatesmore succsesful is the conclusion! We say that a guru who has a large amount of wealth is a better guru! Again, despite of their claims of a simle life, they travel in luxury cars and stay in posh surroundings. Is the show of spirituality a fraud? One such example is Ravishankar of art of living. With a bloated ego and prefixing fancy titles like hh and Sri Sri to his name does he not represent the very antithesis of what he preaches?

The Lyrics go like this, "I'm reaping the harvest god promise me, take back what the devil stole from me". I heard this song in church and just want to know what the name is.

The traditional idea that Satan was an angel who willfully rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven for doing so is unbiblical. It is not found in the Bible, and that is not the image of Satan that IS presented in the Bible. It was a later invention of the Christian church.

So if the Bible says one thing, and tradition says another, which should we hold to?

According to past explanations, a general explanation of not believing in God is "no evidence." Therefore, maybe you can prove the evidence of wind. A person cannot see the wind, then how do we know it exists?

Gen 1.3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
When he saw that the light was good he divided it from the darkness.
When God said let there be light, and there was light - then all the darkness would have been consumed by the light?
So the earth would have been totally in a state of light?? or what? And if the sun is the source of the light, then there would have been no need to separate in the first place?. Previous responses have helped me resolve issues with Gen 1-2. So I hope you can come through with 3-4.
Thanks.

thats the very moment the idea of a God external to life came into the human mind. 'dust thou art, and to dust thou shall return' has never been an easy phrase for any human to comprehend. so they invented a supernatural being called god/allah whom they thought will save them from the grave and give them some sort of life beyond the grave. the very idea of an external god i believe came as a way to control human hysteria about the fact that we humans can never accept our mortality.
am i right?

I invited them in for a chat. I listen to what they have to say, and I give my perspective.

I don't like to be rude...perhaps God has a message to give me through them. God works in most religions.

So what would you do if the Mormons came to your door? or any of the different religions?
