thats the very moment the idea of a God external to life came into the human mind. 'dust thou art, and to dust thou shall return' has never been an easy phrase for any human to comprehend. so they invented a supernatural being called god/allah whom they thought will save them from the grave and give them some sort of life beyond the grave. the very idea of an external god i believe came as a way to control human hysteria about the fact that we humans can never accept our mortality.
am i right?

I consider it unlikely that the answer to the broader question will be found on a public internet message board when psychologists, anthropologists and sociologists all struggle with the concept. Some say the concept of a higher power came about to sooth fear. Some say it came about as an expression of culture. Some say it came about as a concept to hold society together.

In response to your theory, I seriously doubt there was anything remotely resembling a conscious decision to "invent" a god. Such a concept would take many generations to become a fixture in a society. Fear of death may have helped mold this figure, but I don't believe it is the creator of a god.

Right on. It is scary to think of death and the unknown. We all wish some big magic nice being would save us in the end. Also, people had no science back then to explain anything. Imagine how scary a tornado was. An earth quake. The plague.

God created us to be curious about the things we dont understand, like him.

Inventions of mankind dont answer prayer and do miracles, ours does! We know God to be true, you do not. And you cannot say for sure because you would have to be God to know.

I believe humans are capable of comforting and rationalizing themselves out of any fears. Your assumption then would have atheists running around like scared children and they are anything but.

Remember we are responsible to God for what we say, do, and believe in this life. How is he going to judge you? Oh hes not real? How can you be sure of that? What if youre wrong? Are you prepared to face judgment when it turns out to be true?

shiver me timbers has armageddon come?

yeah, that sounds about right. except god/allah wasn't around at the time, that came waaaay later. they probably started off with sun gods, moon gods, wind god, rain gods, you catch my drift. but in general lines correct.

No, I could offer more proof but most atheists could care less. Most wouldn't know or accept God if He presented Himself to them, even if they could look on Him without dieing.

theres no reason to believe men are any smarter today than they have ever been .... if it was 80000 years ago we would have historical artifacts older than 7000 years ... or maybe u think we just got smarter in the past 100 years coz of our gadgets ...
