Gen 1.3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
When he saw that the light was good he divided it from the darkness.
When God said let there be light, and there was light - then all the darkness would have been consumed by the light?
So the earth would have been totally in a state of light?? or what? And if the sun is the source of the light, then there would have been no need to separate in the first place?. Previous responses have helped me resolve issues with Gen 1-2. So I hope you can come through with 3-4.
Thanks.

At one Point in Time, only Planet Heaven and Planet Earth Existed, BOTH were Lit Up by the Glory of GOD.
Then GOD had to Kick out satan, guess where he went, only Two Planets.
satan messed up the Earth.
Were dealing with the Way GOD Creates Things here. GOD Creates in the Spiritual Realm First, they Show up in the Physical Realm after that.
Hope this helps.

What? Do you think he should have said let there just be a little bit of light and a little bit of darkness?

God spoke the light and the shadow into being.
There it was.
There is the theme of spiritual light also.
