I've invited them in and listened politely. They did try to sell me on the idea that their founder Joseph Smith was able to talk to God face to face! I politely declined that little bit of "revelation" and asked to use THEIR bible -- whereupon I found the verse in Exodus where this is written: Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."
19 And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 20 But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
21 Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen." EX 33:18-23.
They sat in stunned silence for a good 2-3 minutes -- and asked whether they could return at a later time to share more. I agreed....but I never saw them again.

Depending on how much time I have, I invite them in and settle in for a good debate. I sometimes offer rides to the Mormon missionaries I see here in Brazil, the poor suckers walk almost everywhere, and can't hardly believe that I am a missionary too, and have a car with airconditioning, and don't have to wear some dorky uniform and nametag.
For Jehovah's Witnesses, when you are getting tired of their circular arguments, just say that you want to lay hands on them to pray for them- I don't know why, but they seem to be terrified of that, and will quickly leave.
I try to be cordial, loving, but firm, and show the truth in the Bible, while praying that they would come to know the real Jesus, and get free of the religious bondage that they are in.

I've invited them in, gave them water and listened to their speech and then talked about my faith and how comparable it was to Mormonism.
They're very nice people, very well mannered. One of them even invited me to the Mormon mother's day program which I thought was very nice.
The only religion I will not allow in my home are Jehova Witnesses. I 've nothing but bad experiences with them and even had one that ' stalked' me for a few weeks til I reported him to the local cops. No more Jehovas.

I have invited them in a couple of times. But I am really getting sick of it now, I just scare them off, the Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Baptists too. I ask them to read me the first week of creation and then the creation of the garden. I stop them there and point out that man was created on teh sixth day and given watch of the land etc and Adam was created on the eighth day. Then I tell them that I am one of those "Other People" and not subject to the laws of Eden. They usually run away. Every once in a while, one of them will stay and we'll talk nicely. I figure if they are willing to listen then I am willing to listen.

I have already had the honor of the Mormon missionaries. I have listen to their Gospel and simply did not believe what they had to say. They left without finishing their cookies.
It is not a question of being rude as of being disturb. My home is my place not a classroom. If I want some information about Mormons or JWs, I will go to their place. They should never come to mine.

"When they asked if I had found Jesus, I would come to the door naked and tell them "No, but come help me find him" -Robin Williams
Actually, I would probably let them in and see what they had to say as well. (Just thought it was a pretty good joke). Your right though, God must work through most religions or else they wouldn't survive.

If they made it through the dogs to the front door, I would go and check on the dogs, there must be something wrong with them. As for the Mormons I say no thanks I am very happy with my God. Your God is kind of scary. Please leave, you are trespassing. I offer water to any traveler who knocks on my door, so I'd probably do that first.

I wasted a lot of time with a couple of Jehovah's witnesses arguing with them. I dont think I'd encourage Mormons or anyone else after that experience.

I focus on John 6. This seems to do it every time--or, more properly, it seems to do something every time, and the something can be one of two things.
If you're fortunate, your discussion of that chapter--it's the one in which Jesus promises the Eucharist and states emphatically that what appears to be bread and wine really will be his body and blood--will throw the Jehovah's Witnesses for a loop. Focus on Jesus' repetition; over and over he said we're to eat his flesh and drink his blood, and over and over he failed to tell his listeners he was speaking only metaphorically--for the simple reason that he wasn't. He was speaking literally, and his listeners knew it.
May God bless you

Tell them I already go to church and say goodbye. Most cultic religions study other religions in dept, so to get into a debate with them would be not worth my time.
