I asked this question... blah blah blah... and like 20 people told me that i was going to hell and that i was going to burn for eternity. Christians are so pathetic, trying to scare me into believing God. One person said (i copied and pasted this is what she really said)

You will continue to sink into the slime of humanity. The reason that you do not feel that bad is that your conscience is already dead. You do not realize that you are dead in sin and if you do not repent, when you die , you will be trapped in that dead body and realize it. You will feel every worm and spider and beetle that crawls on you. Consider all the people in the news lately that have died suddenly then think about what you are going to do for eternity trapped in death with demons tormenting you.

how mean. So... why are christians always trying to scare you into believing god??? And one time my christian friend flipped out because i swore on the bible. OMG! LOL

thanks for all the answers

When I first clicked on this question I wasn't sure how I was going to respond to it... but wow, I agree with you. That post is ridiculous. I have no idea who would say something like that.

Not all Christians are like that, though.

Why do you lump all Christians into one category? I am more interested in your other question. I believe the other answer given though poorly presented might ring closer to the truth. Humanity as a whole is evil and slime works for me. But since you asked a question conscience related it cannot be dead. Dulled, desensitized, or even impaired, but willing to seek advice. We are all dead in sin until we accept Christ then we are resurrected with him. While painting a very grim picture you will not feel anything till you arrive at your final destination and that decided by God and none else. Demons will not torment you as they too will be tormented and as to what that form will be again is up to God and only we can speculate.
So, yes they were mean, but perhaps wishing to win you over with a club. Face it more people act out of fear than any other motive. Also the Bible say "fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom." We Christians being human will make mistakes all the time, but we should be held accountable and yes to a higher standard as we are ambassadors. So, in that I apologize for her poor attempt at showing you the truth.

I understand why some would be loathe to swear on the Bible, but should not get freaked out by it.

I'm sorry, but please don't take what "so called" Christians on this site say. Christians should be Christ like, not mean! Many Christians take it on to blast God into someone. That's not true Christianity, as Jesus would not have done that. Sin is sin, however, but Christians shouldn't scream or yell or type mean things to people. Just state the facts, or the word(Bible) and let God do the work.

Don't let what you see online, deter you from seeking God or a church or anything of a religious nature, just be sure it's Biblically sound.

You're stereotyping all Christians as mean and coercive, and that's just not true. Not all of us believe in trying to terrify someone into accepting Christ or ranting at them.

I've always loved the quote attributed to St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary."

Trust me! Not all Christians are mean. The truth of the matter is that she really may not be a Christian at all. She certainly doesn't use the rhetoric or tactics of Jesus Christ. He would never have talked to you in that manner. She needs to study the red print in the New Testament. Her arrogance would turn anyone off.

I don't know, a lot of them just are really mean in their nature. Though I would greatly wish for you to be saved, all I can do is warn you once and then twice and let you dig your own grave. I will neither dig it for you, mock you as you dig, or fall into your own grave. If you have made your choice, I just sadly admit defeat. You see most Christians do not realize that anyone who goes to hell is a loss for us, because our objective is to have brethren join us, and not for people to be sentenced to hell. Hell is our enemy, we should weep whenever someone is making decisions that will lead them there.

There seems to be this deal with the Internet where people pretend they are all sorts of things they are not. Just like people do in night clubs and such. This is someone with some knowledge of GOD's truth with absolutely no love and compassion. Does that sound like Jesus?
Christian = " Little Christ "

Shalom.

OK, here's my take on things...an abused child grows up to be an abuser unless he/she breaks the cycle. When you are born and raised in the church all you hear is hellfire and sinners and how Jesus (not your own behavior) is the only thing that can save you. If you continue to hold those beliefs of course it's going to affect all those people you were told were people who needed saving. They were bullied into it and think thats the way to save others.

Christians are no more perfect than any one else. But if you loved and cared about some one and you knew they were headed into a fire wouldn't you try every way possible to make them see the truth to save them from great pain and suffering?

Sweetie,

Most of us Christians are only trying to save a lost and dying world out there. Believing in God is great, but trusting and believing in Jesus is your ticket to Heaven.

God loved you and me soo much He gave His only son, to die a horrible death on the cross, so that we may go to Heaven. The wages of sin is death, but Jesus paid it for us.

For the above post that you copied, I'm sure she meant well, but there as Christians, we are supposed to spread the gospel with love. For a Christian to act like that is not winning any souls to Christ. People will look at her and say I want no part of Christianity if that's what they're like. I would like for you to seriously consider reading your Bible, swearing on it is blasphemy. I'm sure you knew that and only wanted a rise out of your Christian friend.

God loves you, He's waiting for you to come to Him with open arms. Trust in His son Jesus to save you from Hell, and to take you to Heaven when you die. Its the most important choice you're ever make, an eternity in Heaven sure beats out eternity in Hell, don't you think?

Not all Christians are so freaking mean. Some of us are funny. Just the other day I was talking to my friend and was like, Dude, whats up with all these grapes being so expensive? I mean, come on, talk about the grapes of wrath!!!

Okay, so I'm not a funny Christian. But not all of us are mean!
