I'm not trying to pick on anyone. That is not the reason I posted this question. I watched a video yesterday showing this guy waving his hands, popping peoples foreheads and they fall and start wiggling!!! Then to top it off, a whole crowd in the front of the acting stage fall over together as he waves them over. I believe him to be a phony. I'm religious, but my denomination and affiliation is my business. He puts his acting on TV so he's fair game! What do you think?

When my daughter was 5 years old (Shes going to be 12 in March) She said that she had seen her Great-Grandma on her fathers side. She never meet her, because she died around 1987 and my daughter was born in 1995. my daughter described her a a black woman in her window, she was wearing white and smiling at her. Now many years later, she still sticks to the story. My Husband thinks that there is a connection between the to of them because they both have the same initials. But now, she is confused about if it was, indeed her great-grandma.

Please help.

I just heard on the radio, a Christian program, about, this Church where a lady was singing and playing the piano, she was a sololist. During her song, the whole Church heard these other voices singing and they were recording the service,so they had it on tape. The guy on the radio played the tape and you could hear the woman singing, of course, but then all of a sudden you could hear this choir of voices,( soprano), singing in harmony with her. They can't figure out what it is. Do you think it is a hoax or angels? No one else in the Church was singing except this one woman.

We as Jews do not wish to do this. It is holy to us as much as it is for the Muslims. We as Jews believe that this is the place where Abraham tried to sacrifice Isaac. So what purpose would it surve for the Jews to destory it?

I don't know how many times I have heard Christians make references to Sunday as the Biblical Sabbath. Some even refer to Sunday as the Seventh Day, which is even more ridiculous.

Sunday is the ancient Roman day of Solar Worship. It is even named for that purpose. Your Sabbath begins on Friday at sundown and ends on Saturday at sundown.

This has never changed and Christians were never released from the Old Testament commandment to remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy. I can't think of anything that could violate that commandment more than to forget what day it is on and then observe it on the Pagan Roman Solar Holiday.

Are you trying to remind God that you forgot, by posting it on Courthouse lawns?

Sunday is also the first day of the week on all calendars in the Western World and has been for over 2,000 years. It is not your 'Seventh day of rest' from the Genesis creation story.

Do Christians honestly not know how to read a calendar

In the early manuscripts of the New Testament, Barabbas (the prisoner freed by Pilate at the people's request) is called Jesus Barabbas [Greek: Iesoun ton Barabban] . Later transcriptions (3rd century) removed his first name to avoid confusion with Jesus Christ (Iesoun ton legomenon Christon). Barabbas (Bar Abba) means "Son of the Father" and some scholars believe this is actually a name that the people used for Christ.
Some of the interpretations have been:
1) Barabbas was a Jewish freedom fighter who used violence instead of peace to fight Roman rule. The people chose him for freedom because he was a warrior hero like David (of Goliath fame).
2) The people were calling for the release of Jesus Son of the Father (Christ) and Pilate ignored or misunderstood them. The wrong person was released.
3) There never was anyone named Barabbas at all. He was just a metaphor created by Paul to shift blame for Christ's death away from Rome. This made his conversion of the Romans easier.

And you'd all be talking smack about this evil dude named Yahveh who rebelled against the good, loving Satan, for which Yahveh was sent to Hell... You'd be trying to convert me to Satanism and warning me about the dangers of the evil Yahveh-worshipers!

Suppose that there exists One Supreme Being. You can call this being YHWH, Allah, God, Brahma, whatever you like. Suppose that this one being exists. Now, suppose they revealed themselves to you and declared themselves the Supreme Being, Creator of All, etc.

My question: How would you know if they were? What would they have to do to "prove" it to you? Walk on water? Teleport? Tell you the most intimate details of your life that no one else but you and this being could possibly know?

This question, I think, is relevant to everyone. It's not a "Christian" or "Muslim" or anything like that, question. It's a personal question about how you see your own beliefs.

BTW, my question is motivated in part by Arthur C. Clarke's quote, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Though it pertains to magic, it can also pertain IMO to any supernatural phenomena.

okay...well 2000 years ago I'm sure they didn't have the F word...and I know that anything that has the lords name in vein is considered a curse word (in a Christians view point) so when were curse words (like the sort of new age ones) set as a bad word (again in a Christians view point)?...

Every religion swears theirs is the only way. how can anyone in modern society make a rational choice? there is no evidence in any direction which one is right, and each one tries to scare you into thinking that rejecting a specific religion will cause you to have a bad afterlife. Well, that is your choice to make.....but you better chose right! cause ours is the only way! and if you don't chose it you're going to hell for the rest of your life!!!!!!!

......Now okay, having told you that, come to a "rational" conclusion.

The Bible would seem to indicate it:

Ecclesiastes 9:5: "5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."

I have observed in many places of worship, the devotees inflicting grave injuries on their God-gifted bodies to please Him and thus gain His blessings. The most surprising thing is that it has the sanction of the society and spirituality as a whole. The penance includes rolling over long distance, piercing the tongue and the cheek and beating the chest. Hysterical seizures are also observed in front of the Deity. One can understand it, if these practices are confined to illiterates. Even the highly literate, rich and men of eminence practice it to the dismay of the enlightened. The party-steered political atheists too are no exceptions; they do it stealthily. Is it not the duty of the Heads of Religions to stop this practice through strict orders prohibiting it? The Government cannot ban this practice as religions are involved. But it can definitely start a campaign of enlightenment against this barbaric practice of self-physical and mental violation. Can't it?

Some notable examples include: Trinity, Three-in-one, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost.

How can this justify that God is truely a triune if such terminologies do not originate anywhere from the Bible?
