okay...well 2000 years ago I'm sure they didn't have the F word...and I know that anything that has the lords name in vein is considered a curse word (in a Christians view point) so when were curse words (like the sort of new age ones) set as a bad word (again in a Christians view point)?...

I do not and will not take the Lord's name in vein because we are commanded to preserve the word. But all others are just words! I'm not going to get caught up in these petty things that have no bearing on my soul.

The word "profane" originally meant ANYTHING that was outside of a holy place.

"Profanity" meant speech outside the holy place. The Puritans (I believe) were the ones who pretty much codified (ie, made "laws") profanity as "bad words" and set punishment. Over the years, it's grown to include a LOT of words that aren't "profane" but are "curse" words nonetheless.

Given the choice to curse or not, why would you choose to curse?

Yaks(pbut).

There is a lesson in each of your questions.

As for the Schooling of the Churches; it is supposed that you will find meaning in the Bible's words if you study the Bible daily and give thought to all of the possible ways those meanings could be defined so they are understood comparatively in our day and age.

Example: Using anyone's name for the purpose of selfish pride, gain, or vanity will eventually get you rebuked by the individual eventually.

It is best to curse yourself for your own weaknesses, and try to make stronger that psychological or physical power through corrective health practices to make yourself better.

Better not to curse your neighbor when your neighbor can't hear you. For someone else may and could tell them what you said, when you're not listening.

Cursing is one thing, and God curses all over the Bible. But swearing is yet another thing. Jesus said not to swear. These two things are confused a lot.

So I curse sometimes. And so did many in the Old Testament. Sometimes God made sure the curse was carried out.

I want to be as accurate as possible to curse properly, that's a practice that I think we must all learn!

My pastor was interpreting from the original languages about Abraham and Sarah. Abraham was told that Sarah would have a child when she was 90. My pastor went on to say how Sarah found a woman to "have relations" with Abraham to produce a son. He used "have relations" as he said he could not use the word in the greek. My pastor inferred that the F word was definitely used for the sex that Abraham had with the woman that Sarah provided.
It was very sweet and funny to see my Pastor "dance" around the explicit word used in the original languages.
Peace out.

Its not curse words. Its cursing someone. So, when you drop somethin like fu, then you are cursing them, same as saying something like, may the Lord send you to Hell. Same thing, just different words. Curse words are simply the words used to curse people. If you want to keep your tongue completely pure, you will not so much as say something angrily, because the Bible says not to speak out of anger... so in God's eyes, yelling at someone becasue you're mad (even with the most "politically correct" word choice) at them is the same as packing their ears full of "f bombs".

I don't believe the word itself is really the issue, the fact that you resort to what others consider "foul" language is really an indication that you don't care enough about the person your speaking to and it may also indicate the lack of mental discipline which will also lead you to trouble in your actions. The Christian thing to do is to behave in a manner that is not excessive so as to not cause harm to another person.

You know perfectly well, when you can be wrong, is all up to you, there is freedom although I'm a firm believer that 100% freedom isn't good. The only difference we have with the day's in which Jesus live and die, is truly the way we dress. Plus, and although I'm Catholic I do believed that in the Final Judgments we will have to find our own self's innocent or Guilty, of our own doings and off our own religion belief's or desires to become to continue pursue and to achieved, whatever is there in life that we can and will Love too achieved? Why not became our own judges, so we can try and fight God own Intelligence???.

Using the Lords name in vain can be dangerous because the one who uses it for regular conversation it becomes void of meaning so when you really need it to work for you, you don't comprehend the power of it in time of need.

A curse word can be any word that does not promote life, rather it brings death and destruction.

Using the Lord's name in vain, is blasphemy.
Many are blasphemous towards God.
