I'm not religious, but I'm studying a course on world religion and I'd like to know of any quotes from the Bible or the Qur'an that support or reject this notion.

Does anyone know of any other religions which possibly "share" a God in the same way? Many thanks.

I heard a lot of Christians these days are ignorant. So besides the OT, what else do they ignore?

It is offensive to me to think that people would go out and sin just because they are forgiven the next day. Have I totally missed it here? It seems to me this is exactly the kind of thing Paul was talking about when he said, "Should I sin more that grace may abound?"

No. it is not necessary because god is every where, I think. If we really pray it will really reach there. Of course in our daily life we are paying for one or another work.

I'm a Christian, but I took Evolution in public school and it didn't do anything to convince me with the "evidence" they showed which was little more than the drawing of the ape becoming a man. Anyway, I think there is little harm in Evolution being taught, so I think it is fine in public schools, but just to protect conscience, if a child, on their own decision and not their parents, wants to be exempt from the class they should be able to take an alternate class for conscience sake, and not an alternate religious class but a neutral science class like Chemistry of Physics. I don't think Intelligent Design should be taught, but not because of Separation of Church and State... if religious topics can't be propagated in school then neither should anti-religious topics. But I think since teachers do so bad at "proving" Evolution I wouldn't trust them with even trying to explain Intelligent Design fairly. I don't feel threatened by Evolution, but no one should be forced to take it.

What is it with all these answers about judging? This is questions and answers! No ones answer is a judgment against anyone. If you feel you are being judged then you are guilty of something. Why, is everyone accusing this?

Frankly, that sounds ridiculous.

I Learnt that spirituality leads to expanding our consciousness above to our normal levels through meditation, hatha yoga etc, and every civilisation has worked out various tecniques like tantra, zen etc.Our great spiritual leaders Buddha,Jesus,Kabir,Jiddu, etc are by birth or through practice have expanded their consciousness to various levels{individual conscious to universal conscious}and various geniuses like Eienstein,Jonh Nash,Ramajunam, etc are gifted with such expanded consciousness. My question is by how we can expand consciousness {techniques other than meditation and praying, satsang, yoga which i am trying now}are their any scientific or logical techs to attain this, books, website or persons with fair knowledge both practical and theory help me in this regard. THANKING ALL, SAT-CHIT-ANANDA

Don't you ever watch product ads? They always have testimonies of "how it worked for me". They have before and after pictures, but in the aftermath they are proud to show how they look. Shouldn't Christians be the same way? Shouldn't they be eager to say, "Look at my life, see how Christ has worked for me, because I know he can work for you too"

So many, though, say, by what they do "Accept Christ. Meanwhile I am still sinning, but don't worry about that. You should try Christ"

If you want people to accept Christ, shouldn't you first be eager to show people that he worked for you and changed you?

"Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visists us" 1 Peter 2:12

Do we believe in God just so we have someone to blame for our own mistakes?

I believe there is a vast difference between ones' Faith and religion - which I believe religion to be just one HUGE business. (ANYTHING that has money involved IS just that - a business. ! Simple as !)

Just look at all those tv evangelists... even the Church own property and invest in stocks and shares... All money has to be accounted for to keep the IRS and tax offices happy.

fight, struggle, behead, burn, loot, etc
always out of context? And if they are, why are they in there?

When they quote from the Qu'ran, they use out of context verses to spread lies we're violent. But when other people quote from the Bible, they totally ignore it and merely saying "Out of context."

Even I could pull that trick, Revelation 21:8 "...And all liars have a place in the lake of fire."

This goes to all who uses out of context verses from any holy book, if you really want to learn about it you need to learn from a valid source or read the whole page yourself.

*just to idiot proof*

I didn't generalize alright? I said SOME Christians. Not all, the majority is cool.
