So Islam teach the Big Bang theory and evolution or is it creation with Adam as the first man?

or is it both, where Adam was the first man after we evolved from monkeys? I have read many contradictory claims of the Islamic version of creation, so much so, I am very confused...what is the correct assertion from Islamic scholars? can you recommend any good Islamic version of creation books?
