Seriously: how can any, even moderately intelligent, woman not reject all of them on this basis alone?

OK, let's limit it to the major "in the news" religions:
Christianity, Judaism, Islam.

Its not just religions that have done this to Women,men have being treating them as slaves since the dawn of time,long before we had racism and bias women have been enslaved.

That is the PROBLEM with all organized religions. They are that way because of Mans Traditions. IF anyone had any Common Sense, and read the Word of God with UNDERSTANDING they would see there are a lot of WOMEN in Gods Word that are more sensible and intelligent then MEN. Just 3 example are , Ruth, Deborah, Esther. IF you would read in Gods Word about Deborah, the MEN were AFRAID and SCARED to go into BATTLE, AND DEBORAH LED THEM, and it was to VICTORY. Do not think that ALL women are treated like crap. I know some Women who are in the place of being the Spiritual Leader in the home, and it SHOULD BE the man's job, BUT the Woman is more able to do it, and is MORE MATURE in the Word of God. There are MANY other places in Gods Word where you can read about other Nobel Women and their role in different aspects of Biblical Times.

Most of us are brought up to conform to society's rules. Some of us rebel against those rules during adolescence and find a new set of rules to conform to: that's how we become adults. Others are content to live with what they are taught. That's why culture changes gradually.
The origin of organized religions lie in male-dominant times. The world is changing towards a more egaliterian order, but the change is gradual and even in the most advanced societies we cannot say that women are regarded equal to men in all aspects.
And this brings us to your second question: women donot reject all social or religious rules at once, because rejecting all would make you a social outcast and women are social creatures. So, we all reject some, accept some. And when accepting rules, some people justify them in order to find some peace in their inner worlds. Nobody can take the stress of living with a set of rules he/she rejects for too long.
But you already knew these, didn' you? Your questions were rhetorical.

I wasn't aware that all organized religions treated women like cr@p. Have you sampled the Anglicans, Unitarians, Methodists, or Pentecostals? What about organized Neo-Paganism? Asatu? Neo-Gnosticism?

well i did, and this wasnt the only reason....i totally agree wit u...i belong to a hindu family and each time there is some kind of ritual at home and i m having my periods, i m asked to not touch anyone, it makes me sick....i finally revolted and said if i cannot b a part of some ritual then just keep tht ritual out of my house..lol...i wish all women will wake up and see how religion does nothing more then try and make women feel like second grade citizens.

I don't think they do I think they treat some people better and some people worse on the basis of one thing are you a member, and the next is how much money do you got, where do you work and where do you live?

i hope you're not talking from experience.
i can assure you that Islam doesnt teach/allow women to be treated like crap. you may hear rumors or see Muslim women covering up, but dont "judge a book by its cover" ... know how they feel about it before you prejudge them (Muslim women) or their religion (Islam).
