Isnt this kind of contradictory?

Its not contradictory because Jews don't see Jesus as a great prophet.

They didnt see Jesus as a great prophet for a number of reasons:
1. Because throughout Jewish Scrpture the Messiah is depicted as a political figure. Jesus claimed to be the messiah yet was not a political figure, therefore was not seen as a great prophet, let alone the son of God.
2. Because Jesus (as recorded in the New Testament) is said to have alluded to himself as being God himself which was considered blasphemous and no great prophet would even consider doing that (Isaiah couldnt believe he was even alive after seeing God, let alone claiming to be God)
3. he often seemed to not fully practice religious Judaism by the Pharisees.

Therefore Jesus wasnt seen as a great prophet by Jews, only by Christians.

because Jews dont think that Jesus was a prophet. That's an urban legend. According to Judaism all prophecy ended several hundred years before Jesus.

Because Mel Gibson said Jesus was the son of God.
And Jew seem to hate Mel Gibson now.
So everything Mel says.. MUST be a big fat LIE!
