When they quote from the Qu'ran, they use out of context verses to spread lies we're violent. But when other people quote from the Bible, they totally ignore it and merely saying "Out of context."
Even I could pull that trick, Revelation 21:8 "...And all liars have a place in the lake of fire."
This goes to all who uses out of context verses from any holy book, if you really want to learn about it you need to learn from a valid source or read the whole page yourself.
*just to idiot proof*
I didn't generalize alright? I said SOME Christians. Not all, the majority is cool.

For example, the so called verse of the sword. Surah 9:5
"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
But, look at verse 9:6 and 9:7.
And if one of the idolaters seek protection from you, grant him protection till he hears the word of Allah, then make him attain his place of safety; this is because they are a people who do not know.
How can there be an agreement for the idolaters with Allah and with His Messenger; except those with whom you made an agreement at the Sacred Mosque? So as long as they are true to you, be true to them; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty).
The verse talks during the times of war, it also states if they do not wish to fight, let them be.

*We, It should be no surprise because most Christians quote the bibl eout of context to make it appear to say what they want it to say. Very few actually qouote the bible in context, because they must prove their doctrine they follow.
For example those who believe once saved always saved will only quote scripture that appear to say that we are saved by grace and are sinners and saved. they avoid the scripture that talk about works and good deeds and say we take the bible out of context. *

What exactly is the right context, my friend Adia?
Should we emphasize the grace and poetry of the Koran?
Or is the correct context the current world situation? I would argue for the latter, simply on the grounds that millions of Muslims around the world interpret the Koran as clearly demanding the elimination of infidels.
Guess what?
You're outvoted by your own co-religionists!
Shall we dance again, my friend? Want to look at the headlines again for today? How many innocent human beings were slaughtered in cold blood today for committing no greater crime than being non-Muslim?
There will come a time when the world will innoculate against Islam like any common disease. There's still time for you. Get out of this blood-thirsty religion while you still can.

I know how you feel. They ignore the verses directly before and after that one that say don't attack people unless they attack you, and if they stop then you too stop and live in peace. I could take a verse from the Roman Catholics bible that says the very birth of a girl is a total loss and only keep it at that, but I also read around it and saw that it's talking about what would amount to a whore today. People are an outcome of their environment. If they grew up with hatred and being taught to hate, that's what they will do. If they were raised with an open mind and scolded for saying even a joke that was racial, they will grow up to respect others and realize that people are people who can't be forced to believe what they don't want to believe.
I am a muslim woman, but my children when at my mother's house for the weekend do go to her church. I allow it because I want them to see WHY they are who they are. I also want them to have knowledge of as much as possible, so that when they are adults they will understand whatever they choose to believe.

There is a difference between something that is truly out of context, and needs to be explained, and some of the more violent verses in the Qu'ran.I have not seen a Muslim able to put those verses in context. That's not to say that there isn't anyone able to,only that many Muslims don't seem to be knowledgable about their own book, and gloss over the nasty bits.

Good on ya for not generalizing!
And yes, you make an excellent point. Out of context, you can make the Bible say all kinds of horrendous things. Christians who manipulate the Qu'ran to make it sound violent are deliberately misleading their readers. If they really cared about the truth, and if their points were actually valid, they would read the Qu'ran from front to back (or back to front, as the case may be) and present a balanced and accurate picture of its contents.

All religious people use their books to bend information any way they see fit. Thats the beauty of religion. And yes, i believe muslims to be a violent religion. You have had thousands of years to prove it, yet you seem to not be able to. And dont say its only extremists, just watch television and read the signs of people in the streets in england....death to the pope, death to this guy and that guy, europe is in line for a 9/11. Yeah, you guys are peaceful. I'm not religious and dont want to die for any religion.

Are you saying that I would be taking it out of context if I wanted to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. If not, can you tell me in this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

SOME Christian also use Bible out of context to support whatever issue they choose to side with. If they would do it to their own book you can expect that they will do it to someone else's.
From my personal experience people who are too quick to tell you they're a Christian are the biggest hypocrites
