Why Christians are so forceful with their faith? By now, I think everyone knows that Christians are taught to share the good news and save people's souls, especially fundamentalists, who believe in the idea of Hell as a place of eternal torment.

Does that excuse insults and bad behavior? Certainly not. But I have seen so many questions about "Why do Christians force their beliefs down other people's throats?" Don't you already know the answer to this question, or are you just using it as an excuse to do your own insulting?

i love to read, i read alot of novels...but i really like to read Anne Rice's books...being that i'm a born again Christian, does that mean God looks down on me reading about the "occult", or being that i read them meerly for entertainment purposes, there really isn't any harm....

there is a passage in Psalms, saying "i will set no evil thing before mine eyes"..do you think this is pertaining to topics such as this?

What do you have to lose by believing in God? Nothing. Why spend you life trying to fill the void with worldly possessions, when in the end they will perish? What do you have to lose by believing in Jesus as your Savior? What do you have to lose by being filled with the Holy Spirit? What do you have to lose by having joy, peace, happiness, strength, patience, love, self-control? Nothing in this world can satisfy like Jesus. Drugs and alcohol may satisfy for a short while but then what? What do you have to lose by enjoying your life to the full and not every worrying about anything? You wont have anything to lose.....Just a thought

I woke up this morning and I was hold candy in my left hand. I knew that I was not supposed to be holding it, and I crumbled it to see that it was real. It felt very real. But I do not recall holding candy before falling asleep.
3 minutes later, I though I woke up and there was no candy in my hands. But I thought that I could still feel the fragments of it in my bed.
I got up and looked for the fragments and there was no evidence of the candy.
But I woke in exactly the same position that I was in, in the so called dream, how did I know that I was in that position?
When I woke, there was no sleep inertia as if I had woke. Maybe I closed my eyes.

I got up and felt normal.

I know that I had toothache before going to sleep and pain has a funny effect on me.

If I drempt that I woke up, then why is it that I co-incidentally woke up 3 minutes later? This does not appear to be me still dreaming now?

Is this some kind of LSD trip?

And if they can't convert us they start bombing buildings ,abortion medical facilities. threatening us with the pitchforks of hell etc. They cant fathom others having their own beliefs and own mind. In other words they are right and others are wrong.
Don't you find that presumptious and controlling?

Prayer relaxes us as we invite God into our situation. Prayer reduces stress as we share our burdeds with God.
The scientific community now adds intriguing evidence of the power of prayer. After studying the effects of prayer and meditation on patients for more than 30 years, Dr Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School calls prayer and meditation " profound medicine." Spiritual people have long believed in the healing power of prayer and meditation. We have the power from within through prayers.
But will it really help?
Perhaps you're uneasy about praying for healing for fear it won't work. Prayer always works! It's sometimes God surprises us with the way prayer works. Prayer isn't a catalogue where we select, order, then wait for delivery. It is God's mystical way of changing us through good times and through suffering, God's way of uniting us with that divine part of us-our souls.
Spiritual healing continues as we seek forgiveness for whatever separates us from God.
God Bless

As you all probably know, Harry Potter #7 is coming out. I've discovered a Polish magazine written about the same time as book #4. It contained an interesting article about the boy wizard. I'll translate a few points in the article.
"Harry is supposedly fighting with evil, but he fights only with Lord Voldemort, who doesn't pose a threat to the world. He doesn't fight for good, but to get revenge."
"Harry has no intention of saving anyone but himself."
"Harry, who is a role model for millions of readers, NEVER gives his friends presents, although he gets them a lot."
"The students at Hogwarts get the best of their teachers, but instead of feeling ashamed, are proud of this."
"Because of these books, many young minds turn to the occult."

Do you agree or disagree with these points? Why or why not? Do you have any comments to make about this article?

The bible says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God...” (2 Timothy 3:16). However, many Christian beliefs resemble the EARLIER beliefs held by other middle eastern religions. I will give just a couple of examples.

1. The bible says Moses recieved the 10 commandments from God, right? Directly from God! With that in mind, most of the Ten Commandments rules are also found in the "Negative Confession" of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, and they were written long before Moses' time. God decided to copy the Egyptians??

2. The story of Moses. He is said to have been born in secret and hidden in a floating basket made of reeds to hide him from Pharaoh who wanted to kill him. In an older Egyptian myth, the goddess Isis gave birth to the god "Horus" in the Nile Delta. Isis hid the infant in a basket of rushes so that he would not be killed by a jealous god.

Similar? I would like to know what other people think. I am not Christian bashing here, just curious.
