Why Christians are so forceful with their faith? By now, I think everyone knows that Christians are taught to share the good news and save people's souls, especially fundamentalists, who believe in the idea of Hell as a place of eternal torment.

Does that excuse insults and bad behavior? Certainly not. But I have seen so many questions about "Why do Christians force their beliefs down other people's throats?" Don't you already know the answer to this question, or are you just using it as an excuse to do your own insulting?

Hey, I'm not condoning anything. Any of you guys who read any of my answers know that I don't force my beliefs on anybody. And I'm not saying that its right ... I'm just saying that most people understand why they're doing it. And asking "Why?" a million times won't change the situation.

Here's the deal. Not all Christians are a true and accurate representative of all other Christians. Yes, Christians ought to live by the same basic Biblical standards as one another, but sadly, they rarely do. So what one Christian does or says doesn't necessarily speak for other Christians.
I consider myself a Christian, but I personally don't use the "let me tell you about my God" approach when it's not brought up. Others do. I think you have to understand that some people are just zealous and want to get others on board, but they end up going about it the wrong way, and even coming off as insulting. Be patient with these people. They're still learning how to let their love and their "witness" do all the talking for them.
I will admit, there are some folks out there that are just down right snobby about it, but in that case, they're really not exercising the love that the Bible tells us to share. Those people are in rebellion, so to speak, and no longer being humble. The way to handle those people is usually just to nod politely and walk away. Starting a fight for the sake of standing up for yourself may be worth it to you, but I wouldn't suggest. Simply because if those folks are being snobby, it's not like they're ready to rationalize with you anyway. Just let 'em be.
Sorry if faith's left a bitter taste. It did for me too, once.

Christian are people too. Not everyone knows how to tell other people about Jesus. That said, I'm not trying to play down someone being insulting. There's nothing right about that regardless. And you are right, they shouldn't try to shove the Bible down your throat. Because Jesus didn't shove His Word down anyone's throat. He said, "Whosoever will..." meaning by their own will not because someone put a shotgun to your head.

Yes, I am a Fundamental Baptist. It's not so much as to whether or not I know the answer, it's do you really want to find out the hard way that hell exist? All I will say is, I have lost friends who were only 19 and 34. I bet if you were to ask them did you plan on dying at such a young age, I'm sure their answer would have been no. No one plans on dying young. But we will all surely died. Only God knows that time and place. The only thing He left up to you and me is the choice between Heaven and Hell. The rest is up to the individual while they are alive. I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

8 i dissagree with that. i have had some Christians write me saying that my comments have caused them to rethink some things that they do, and if it changes just one person from being a pain in the neck it is worth asking a million times. I was a Christian and I do understand, but still that does not excuse them from forcing their beliefs on people. Jesus never did this, he left people free to walk away and did not chase them down and never went to them and started the conversation. he always made sure they asked him questions, but Christiand do not do what Jesus did or would do, they like to upset people. I know because I have dealt with them all my life and I am 54 years old.

Christians love to argue and like to brag how they put so and so in their place. I uaed to aloow email communication ,but recieved too much hate mail and one guy I answered a question and knowing Christians like I do I told him plainly not to email me, but he did anyway and would not stop and even in other questions mocked me and mentioned me by my nickname I was using then to another Christian. This is not what Jesus would do. This is bad behaviour disguised as carrying the message.*

I think most of us Christians, yep us fundamentalists, only want to do what God calls us to do and that is to spread the gospel of Jesus and to save souls. We know from the Bible that Hell is a place of torment , suffering and where God did not intend for humans to be. It is my belief that the ones that you say are pushy and forceful may not realize that they 'offend" anyone. In their defense, Jesus did say that the non believers will hate us for His name's sake. I've been out there witnessing and its scary, we came across a witch last week and he wanted nothing to do with Jesus, how sad, but praise the Lord, his sister got saved.

I understand that. But that gives no one any right to force their beliefs on others. I don't go around trying to force my atheism on others. How many christians would like it if I did? They wouldn't. So I really don't care what your bible says it needs to be stopped.

Oh and there is very little about the bible that is good news. I know, I have read it cover to cover and attended bible study for many years.

Just because Christians think they ought to save others, doesn't mean they can or should be rude or pushy in their attempts. A lot of them cant tell when enough is enough either.

In the same way don't you think most Christians should realize that non-Christians have already hear the "good news" of Jesus Christ?

you are right. it is an excuse for them to do their own insulting.

it's ok for them to ask a million times, but when they get the answer it's not ok anymore and suddenly the christians are in the wrong. its ok for them to be offensive but when a christian tries to explain why he/she is a christian that person is in the wrong. or wait, just being "rude". oh ok, so making fun of someone's religion is nowhere near being rude? alright.

what i don't get is this, if you don't wanna listen, then don't. don't argue about it, you know? that's the weird thing. it's like, STOP FORCING THIS ON ME BUT KEEP TELLING ME MORE ABOUT SO I CAN KEEP ARGUING WITH YOU.

the hypocrisy.

hey, just let it go, cause they won't change. peace homie.

So its part of Christian dogma to try and convert others? That i can understand, but I don't accept it when they don't stop when I ask them to. Its one thing to inquire about a Christian's faith and ask for information, but another thing to be repeatedly told about it. But when we question your methods of communication your want for us to be saved, its insulting? Clearly when multiple people say something about Christianity being forced down our throat, there is some validity to that claim.

Oh there is a new one...spiritual rape. Give me a break that is ridiculous. I have never forced anyone to believe what I believe. I have a had a lot of people come to me with a lot of questions about my faith. I am polite and definitley not pushy that is just not me, my personality. God brings them I just pray.

Guess you haven't read anything about the spread of Islam (via much more violent means than people 'sharing'). Insults and Bad Behavior? I don't think Christians have that corner of the market.
