And if they can't convert us they start bombing buildings ,abortion medical facilities. threatening us with the pitchforks of hell etc. They cant fathom others having their own beliefs and own mind. In other words they are right and others are wrong.
Don't you find that presumptious and controlling?

Yes, I do think behavior like that is presumptious and controlling. I'm Christian but I don't think everyone should be like me. I see merit in many facets of other religions and beliefs. The beliefs and practices of others do not threaten my own, so I don't understand all this hullaballoo of non-acceptance for others who want to think and do otherwise. And all this killing in the name of religion is unfathomable! I thought "Thou shalt not kill" was one of the Ten Commandments, yet that law is broken all the time! Man seems to give himself justification to do whatever, whenever it suits him! God must look down on us and just shiver! We will convince Him to eliminate humankind as our brains are not making the world a better place! It'll be back to the animals and the insects! They have greater respect for the world than we do!

First off, not all Christians, just like all Muslims, do not go around killing people who do not think like they do. I find that more than a little insulting.

Second, do we not all think that we are right? If we did not think our position was correct, we would not hold it.

Third, if we think we are right, would we not want to try to convince others of the “rightness” of our views? It does not have to be in the context of religion, it could be who is the better football team or who was the most beautiful dancer on “Dancing with the Stars”.

Interesting point, but I don't think it is any different to people trying to convince you that their opinion is the only opinion on any topic. Admittedly, religious based actions do tend to have greater consequence, however since humans construct their world through their own experiences and interpretations, it is very difficult to convince a person something exists or doesn't exist when their own personal experiences and their understanding of the world doesn't support the view of the other person.

I'm a Muslim and i could care less if you think like me. It is not part of our religion to convert people. Ever had a Muslim knocking on your door spreading the words of the Quran? Of course you haven't. It makes no difference to us if you are a non believer, you have to worry about your own self its not my business what you believe. It makes no difference to my life what you think. I am happy for all the world to have "free" minds and believe what they want where are Muslims trying to force you to believe what they believe? Where? I cant speak for Christians because I'm not one but as for Muslims trying to convert you, please get real you know its not true.
What i find "presumptuous and controlling" is you telling me what i think and what i believe and how as Muslims we behave. I dont make assumptions about you, dont make assumptions about me. Because if this is your opinion you are way, way, way of base.

Christians claim to have the fullness of truth. Objective truth exists. People are wrong or right. reality does not contradict itself. Two people cannot be right when they have opposite views on one subject.

I'm a shiat Muslim.
The Quran says:

Say :"Disbelivers
I do not worship what you worship
Nor do you worship the God that I worship.
I shall never worship what you worship
Neither will you worship the God that I worship.
So let your beleifs be yours and my religion for me."

This was from Surah Kaferoun.

SOME Christians and Muslims do these terribel things. MOST are honest, upright, individuals who just want to live their lives.

Because they are not so secure in their belief as they want to be. They have to *believe* that their path is the right one and that they are validated in their beliefs, and so they have to believe that everyone else is wrong, and has "wrong" thoughts, and is therefore "bad".

Heh hee, we do not want to people to think like us always. Christians want to spread the Gospel the good new that God loves us...because Jesus asked us to do so.
