believe in it. Sort of like how I would like to have a robot to do all of my chores and go to work for me, but I don't believe such a robot exists.. I would like to have a God to watch over me, and my family.. And to one day be reunited with family.. If a God did exist, why can he not make entrance to heaven a little bit easier for us non believers.. We are not like on/off switches when it comes to faith. Is it not cruel to allow someone to go on a one way trip to hell because they have a hard time with blind faith?

I was told this by a christian today in reference to a question I asked. If this is the case, why do christians bother reading it at all? Isn't salvation the point?

I was listening to some Zevon (Desperadoes under the eaves)..and everytime I hear the piano at the end...it feels almost spiritual (I'm an agnostic)......

Where does this type of experience come from for you?

(answering God or the Bible doesn't really say much...more detail please...no scripture pastings)

Quran 4:59 "O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger" http://www.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/004.qm...

Under Islam, Muhammad must be a deity because only deties could deserve obedience equal to that of God.

The Quran could have said "Obey Allah only. You can seek Allah by his revelations made through Muhammad", but it didnt. The Quan instead says "obey Allah AND Muhammd".

According to the Quran, Muhammad must be a God. Period.

Picture it...

Noah: *hammering away...then it slips and SMASH, his left index finger is a swollen red knob...Noah shouts an expletive*

Noah's wife: Honey, be more careful!

God: *voice booming down from the Heavens* Behave or I'll start these rains right now!

Noah: *looks around, a grimace on his face, thinking "I just can't win!"

I spend my whole life going to church, giving my offerings, getting baptized, not listening to rock music or drinking any beer---you know, all the things the fundies say I should do in order to ensure entry into Heaven. Then, I die, and get up to the judgment and, lo and behold, there sits Zeus, all ticked off because no one's worshiped him for 2000 years or so.

What should I do?

I SUBMITT THEY ARE INDEED.

"During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance I saw a SHE-MONKEY surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all STONING it, because it had committed ILLEGAL (according to monkey laws) sexual intercourse. I too, stoned it along with them. " http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/bukhari/058.sbt.html#005.058.188

As you can see, Allah gave us his Holy Shariah law via the monkey. According to the Bukari, Monkeys were the first to practice Allah's law and because they were the first, we should recognize their holy place in the world.

Monkeys had Allah's law and punished other monkeys for illegalities. As we know, under Islam, there is nothing worse that heterosexual conduct and this she monkey got her rightful stoning for her sexual acts.

I am curious, as I keep reading that atheists/agnostics...are such a minority in our country, but I know plenty of them.

(I am an atheist, by the way).

Shouldnt it be common sense for you to love and care for people and treat them as loving and caring as you want to be treated? Why do u need to be told this?

I once asked my Christian friend why it is wrong to kill. He told me: "Because Jesus said not to kill"..........................................Um...Personally, I don't kill because i would not want others killing me or my family . I dont need Jesus to tell me this. Why does my friend?
He couldnt answer it. Maybe you could?

Please no bible verses. I want to know your thoughts through your own words.
Thanks.
