its never been quite clear to me why christians pray.. they believe that their god has a plan, decides all, and that they are powerless on this earth, at least in relation to their god.

so why do christians pray? if youre a christian, do you believe that you can change god's plan? and if so, doesn't that mean that god isn't as powerful, or at least that he doesn't have a plan set out?

i hope people don't take this as an attack on their religion.. i simply have always wondered this

I was having this debate with a very ignorant person today about GOD and ALLAH, and he believes that ALLAH is a different GOD that muslims believe in and is not the same as the GOD that christians, and jews believe in. and that ALLAH told the muslims to blow up buildings and kill innocent people in his name, if he would have read a book he would have known that ALLAH= GOD in arabic. period. muslims dont pray to mohamed as there god, he is there profit and messenger of god just like jesus and moses, and muslims believe in jesus and moses..etc, they believe in them and there books, but also as profits not gods, but the emphasis on mohamed because his message came with the holy Quran. How do people feel about this subject, i wanna try and get things clear about this topic even though it is endless. I am a muslim and we believe in all the holy books and profits, and the whole terrorist thing, there extremists, did u guys forget nazis and kkk?

They yell: "Richard Dawkins is Great" and then blow themselves up in crowded marketplaces.

Of course, with no 72 virgins or everlasting life at the right hand of God, it's all rather sad and pointless, don't you think?

Why? Where is it mentioned in the bible, because I can't find it in revelations.

Whose Idea was the Rapture? I've researched and found that it comes from a 15 year old girl in the 17th century in Europe. Then it was incorporated into some versions of the bible. The idea of rapture is never mentioned in the bible anywhere though...

help me please...

The views of many Christians consider outsiders, now and 50 years ago, is like two dark and distorted mirrors facing each other, that you only dare to look at obliquely. They light the fire of their crosses screaming hosannas and damning those who will not succumb their judgment, because any not yielding to them are considered to be attacking.

This is a sincere question, looking for sincere answers. I would like to know not just similarities, but ways in which these two religions are compatible. Both quantitiy and quality of answer appreciated (I am as interested in an in-depth answer as I am in an answer that has many different instances/situations/examples of how the religions are compatible/coexistent, etc.
It may help to say that I am interested in knowing this because I met a Turkish man who is Muslim, and we are interested in more than just friendship, but the first thing my family made a point of was the cultural differences between us. They demanded of me how Catholic and Muslim is compatible, and I just want to know more than the little that I do.

In this age of mass destruction weapons, A group of insane people, who hate humanity can do a wide spread destruction. Preaching of hatred towards other non-believers, by holy books can lead to such destructions. ( millions of people read these holy books every day ) Be it any reilion, why dont we come together to condemn and try to remove those saying from holy books.
We have already seen sep/11 and no one wants such things to happen again.

God the Son has come to earth, and people did not believe in him than. He even worked miracles: he raised people from the dead he healed the sick, the lame, etc.

So why do you ask to see him, saying than you will know he is real? back than they still didnt believe he was real, even though he DID do miracles. Does Christ need to appear ever few years to convince people he is real? Why should God lower himslef to your level to make you believe? Ever heard the expression, "doubting thomas"?
