But are there any Christians or otherwise sensible thinkers out there who believe, like me, that you don't "choose" to be homosexual, it's not a "disease" or some mindless excuse like that. I've never been comfortable "judging" homosexuals for being who they are. I mean, murderers CHOOSE to kill (or they are insane, etc.). People who lie, usually can help it if they lie. People who cheat others, can CHOOSE not to cheat. But I don't see how people who are gay can/should/whatever "choose" to be sexually attracted to someone else. I mean, if I am attracted to the "wrong" guy, I can avoid him at all costs, but that doesn't change the fact that something about me is attracted to him, so how can people expect homosexuals to somehow be attracted to the opposite sex?? Also, the gay people that I've known, have known of their feelings from a young age. It's who they were. It's not some rebellion, or ?? What do you all think? I'd appreciate responsible answers, thanks!

wickedness in the world doesn't Mr. Big do something about it? We're as evil now as any other time in history - why give the killers, mass murderers, pimps, dykes, and hookers, a pass? I'm really having trouble understanding this stuff.

I have been having bad dreams. Me sleeping with men I never met. Its been goin on for days everytime I sleep. Its been really bothering me. Its not fun. I don't care what anyone say. Becuz I do not care about men or sex at this moment. I am growing with God and God is my main focus. I will not even think about it if its not Godly. A fren of mine told me it could be a lustful spirit floating around my house that is causing me to have these dreams. Becuz that was exactly what happened to her and her room mates. So last night, I prayed about it and rebuked it in the name of Jesus and slept with a bible next to my head and another bible on the side of my bed. It seem to really help. I didn't get them dreams anymore. I had a peacful sleep. Anyone sleep with their bible for any reason?

I just watched a show on ABC about polygamists. They said the Book of Mormon says Cain was cursed with black skin. I went to the lds.org web site and did a word search in the Book of Mormon, but nothing was returned with any combination of those words. Maybe I heard wrong, or maybe this was just something those polygamists believe. The Bible tells us Cain was cursed with a mark so no one would kill him, so it's not out of the realm that the Book of Mormon would touch on the subject, but I cannot find the reference. Anyone know what they were referring to?

I've heard that Mormons until the 1970's believed that "colored" people were cursed with the mark of Cain. It seems very hard to believe that people's beliefs especially those founded in and perpetuated by religion and an institution like a church would truly be so quick to change... So are most Mormons still racist?

Is Lent generally practiced by all Christians, or just by a certain sect? What is it typical to abstain from (if one does not wish to fast)? I don't want to fast for that long so am thinking about eating a simpler, purer diet and then donating the money that I save from this to hungry people. What do you think?

How can you excuse anyone - especially an all-perfect god, for mass slaughter? Didn't he know some of his children would not agree with him - does that justify murdering millions of them with a flood?

I have questiosn about the story the bible tells when Jesus is being tested by the devil. However for now I want to focus on the following text that appears in the book of Mark.

"Then the devil led Jesus up to a high place and quickly showed him all the nations on earth. The devil said, "I will give all this power and glory to you. It has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. Just worship me, and you can have it all.

Jesus answered, "The Scriptures say: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve only him!' "

I have the following questions.
a) clearly according to the bible the devil owns all the nations of the earth, What does that mean?
b) according to the same text, the devil clearly states that the nations/earth was given to him. Why? what happened for the devil to get this?
c) Why did Jesus reply not refute that? i.e why did he not say you dont own earth?
d) If all the nations of the earth are the devils, Are we living in Hell?
