Yes I believe in God.

After all He's done for me, how could I do any thing but love Him, when He first loved me.

Absolutly !
I think God is awesome and our best friend. I know many believe in other "God's" but I am talking about the God of the bible here. He actually wants a personal relationship with us, hears us, answers us ( I think all the time but sometimes we dont like the answer or dont listen close enough) and wants the best for us. Yes a lot goes wrong with the world, but that all started with sin in the garden, it was NOT God's plan for us. And even with that sin, He still made a way for us to come to heaven to be with Him again through His son's sacrifice on the cross.

No, I don't. There has been absolutely zero evidence for a god, and one is not necessary to explain life or the universe. Evolution (which is only a theory in the sense that gravity is a theory) perfectly explains how life evolved from an extremely simple self-replicating collection of molecules to the wide variety of life, including humans, that we see now. All it takes is an understanding of the theory to see how plausible, and relatively obvious it is.

This is why a significant number of Americans don't believe in evolution (causing us to fall behind the rest of the educated world). Religious fanatics protest the teaching of evolution in schools, making it a "controversial issue" and causing schools to shy away from the subject. Schools don't teach evolution in enough to detail to give the average person an understanding of what it means. In my entire public school career, we were given no more than a ten minute overview of the theory. This causes the theory to sound like exactly what religious conservatives want it to sound like: the crazy notion that monkeys turn into people. This notion in and of itself does sound crazy, but with a knowledge of WHY and HOW it happens, it makes complete and total sense.

We need to stop letting religious conservatives hold so much power over our country. If you want to continue with your delusions, that's fine and dandy, but don't try and stop the rest of us from learning about reality.

Besides, does "God" sound like such a good person anyway? He's supposed to be all-loving. But according to religion, he creates the universe, and he creates man. He creates man flawed so that we have a desire to sin, and so that we have a natural curiosity about our world, rather than just beliving what we are told. Then, he hides all evidence of his existence (other than a few-thousand-year-old, poorly translated book written by bronze age tribesmen). Then if anybody doesn't believe in him (even though he has hidden himself), or if they act on our built in desire to sin, or our natural curiosity, we spend all eternity burning in the fiery depths of hell. Sure, God is all loving......except for the 99.999999% of the population that doesn't follow your particular religion, who have been sentenced to an eternity of damnation. God sounds more like a tyrannical dictator to me. Maybe Saddam Hussein and Fidel Castro are just trying to imitate God. Even if God did exist, worshipping him would be the last thing I would do.

yes, i do believe in God, anything to be created needs a creator!

"Say: He is Allah, the One and Only, Allah, the Eternal, Absolute, He begetteth not, nor is He begotten, And there is none like unto Him.'' (1-4:112)
Allah= Has no gender (not male and not female)
''He" is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender
Allah = this word is singular - has no plural

I know God is our Heavenly Father. He sent his Son to die on the cross for the remission of sins. He is loving, just, and desires the best for his children. We are here, so we may return to him and inherit everything that is ours.
