Vocal: Good question there ! As a Christian, I have to say, that the assurance or certainty for the final destination of mankind can be found in the life - death - resurrection to life again, of Jesus Christ, who is alive to ensure that the destiny of salvation becomes a reality to all humans ever born, each in their own, particular turn and time, at His [Jesus'] return to this earth in the not too distant future ! Eternal life is not of chance but of absolute certainty !!!

Final destiny of man? Wow! Everything we do involves chances. Here at the Zoo where I live, we take a chance everytime we are served spinach, or lettuce from Mexico. But we keep on eating the stuff anyway.

Salvation? I would rather take a chance and believe a lie, than to be like my cage mate and feel depressed all the time. Wow, depression can kill you.

As a Christian I find it difficult to understand why you say there is not certainty about the final destiny of man. However, salvation is a matter of choice, not chance. God wants all his children to want to be with Him. He has told us time and again that all we have to do is ask and he will answer, Seek and we will find, Knock and the door will be opened to us.

A lack of certainty in one's final destiny is a gift...it helps us be humble and consider the Other's view, because maybe we still do not fully understand all there is. To say you "believe in Jesus" means little when the body of believers has such a diverse interpretation of his teachings. We each must learn from others and grow. Many would agree that Hitler went to Hell, but Christianity is not a democracy. Many Christians forget that many churches supported Nazi Germany and endorsed slavery during and after its existence in the U.S. In summary, some Christians may go to Hell and some "non-Christians" may find themselves in Heaven. Do you think God will limit such a decision to our current terminology and definitions of "Christian?" His decisions are unknowable and salvation is unknown. However, I will follow Jesus for reasons of faith, not for a promise of eternal salvation.

Main word there-IF. There IS certainty. Read the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible. Q. Why did Jesus come to Earth suffer, and die? A. For the salvation/eternity of man.

There is no chance in what God has done for us in sending His Son to die in our place to pay for all our sins and raising Him up on the third day....

There isn't even CHANCE in man's efforts for saving himself...It will all end in only one way -- in hell...but when you trust in God and in His Word, you can never lose!!!

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS* God." John 1:1 -- caps mine. :-)

God's Word does not return void unto Him and it was God Who put His own Word into practice LONG before He ever told us to do so -- and that is the UNIVERSAL LAW of sowing and reaping.

God gave away what He wanted. He wanted sons and daughters
and so He gave the most precious thing He had, even in the face
of what seemed like total defeat -- adam's disobedience and the seeming loss of His creation and especially of mankind over to satan -- but THAT was ONLY temporary!!

GOD USED HIS FAITH -- HE GAVE HIS SON, JESUS, AND TOOK THE RISK OF LOSING HIM FOREVER....BUT IN DOING SO, HE GUARANTEED THAT HE WOULD NOT LOSE HIS SON
AND HE WOULD GET US BACK AS WELL --- BUT HE WILL NOT FORCE, EVEN THOUGH HE COULD, ANYONE TO ACCEPT HIS GIFT OF SALVATION THAT COST HIM SO VERY
VERY MUCH......

When you give away what you need the most, it WILL come back to you -- GUARANTEED -- good or bad -- it's up to you and
God GUARANTEED His own HARVEST when He let go of what was most PRECIOUS to Him!!!

If you choose to live your life for the final destination, and define that as salvation, it seems to me more like slave-ation. For you are bound to the idea that you serve a God for the sake of living longer than your body will hold out.

I see salvation as living for today, with the body that I have and with no thought of life after death, because any such thought will not give it to me, but instead will rob me of the precious moments that I have in this life. And if it is the only one we have, then there are no moments to waste.

You must be talking about the lottery. Salvation is certain for the true believers.
