Are you a Catholic or a Christian ? Have you accepted Christ as your Saviour & your Lord ? Until you do that there is no forgiveness for sin.Once you have claimed the promises of God & are forgiven , then the next step is to repent ....DON'T DO IT AGAIN !Purity & cleansing of sin is an on going process because we will continue to sin.

Yeah go to confession. I disagree with the last answerer - she said u would be as pure as the day u were baptised. well catholic baptism removes all sin and the EFFECTS of that sin. Confession cannot remove the effects of the sin, only the sin itself. The effects of the sin can weaken u spiritually, the best way remove the effects of sin and strengthen ur soul is through pennence

Repent and believe the good news that Jesus Christ has redeemed you by His precious blood.

If you seek help in not engaging in the same sin again, You should go to confession. It is like a counseling session. You can get advice or consolation and you are reassured of God's love for you and You will get a recommendation on how to make any situations that your sin may have caused right. Like repenting to people you have offended.

The Bible says 'For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God' and the same bible says that 'if we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us'
God sent His only begotten son,Jesus Christ, to come and die for our sins and also to demonstrate His own love towards us.

There is no greater love than the love God has for us.

Just go on your knees (it could be in the privacy of your room), acknowledged the fact that you are a sinner, confess your sins to God our heavenly father who see and knows everything we do in secret.
Tell God to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you with the blood of Jesus.

He only says he should ask and it shall be given unto us.
Talk to Him like you are talking to your friends or anyone.

You will feel the relief and calmness.
But ask Him for His guidance and strength so you don't commit these sins again.

God is a God of love and He loves us regardless of the fact that we may be sinners.

This is what I do. I have a personal relationship with God, and it is great to talk to Him every time.

Catholic or not, we all believe in God and we believe in the words of the bible.

Call a priest and ask for an appointment to make a confession....or you can just go during the regular confession times...

In confession, the priest will guide you throught the ritual, you confess your sins to God, and you walk out of confession with your soul as pure as on the day you were baptised!

Use 1John1:9 and keep moving.
Pray to the Father and say: Father, today I gossiped, maligned someone, I stole, I fornicated etc, etc, whatever the sin is and you are forgiven.
1John1:9 states: if we name our sins he is just and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We don't have to walk an isle or feel guilty.
Guilt is actually a mental attitude sin.Name that one also if you feel guilty.
Jesus Christ took care of sin on the cross-He who knew no sin, was made sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
God wants us to be relaxed and happy.
To claim His promises and trust Him.
Peace out.

Dear friend, im a muslim and we have 4 easy things to do for us to be forgiven:
1- regret our sin with true remorse
2-stop committing the sin (as in action)
3-to be determined not to return to the sin (as an intention)
4-if this sin is about doing injustice to another person, we should correct it.
in islam God calls Himself The Superbly Relenting, that means The One that ALWAYS accepts appologies and NEVER rejects them, ''And He is (The One) who accepts repentance for His bondmen''(42:25). you may fear that ppl may reject ur appology, but with God, u need not have this fear of rejection.

it does not matter what church you attend
because God is faithful in His promises.
His promise of salvation is a simple one.
believe that Jesus is God and did what He says He did on the cross for YOU, seek forgiveness for your sins and make Jesus Christ Lord of your life and you will be saved and your sins will be forgiven (no confession to a human priest necessary).
there are no "ifs", "unless's", "ands", "buts", "excepts"
His Promise is that simple.
salvation is that simple.
there are no other requirements.

The good news is that being forgiven and being saved is not a complicated things, as the real issue is our heart. "The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit" (Psa 34:18). A soul who realizes that he/she has sinned against God and others, and who does not simply want an alleviation of guilt but a new life with God, can be saved.
Let me go briefly over why one needs to be saved, and how.

God is absolutely holy, and perfectly just. He always does what is holy and right, and has given us good things and good laws for our benefit. Sin - which the breaking of God's good laws (which includes the misusing His good things) - is the opposite of God, and it is destructive. Sin has separates you from God, resulting in spiritual death and an emptiness inside, and hurts both you and others. And if not rightly dealt with, the illicit pleasure of sin or the guilt will make you do more sin (Dt. 32:4; Is. 59:1, 2; 1Jn. 3:4)..

No sin can or should be allowed into Heaven, and if we choose to die in our sins, then we must go to a place that is just the opposite of Heaven, a place called the Lake of Fire. This a real a place of interminable grief and torment, while souls far away will be rejoicing! Those who go there have resisted God's drawing, calling them to seek Him and turn from sin, and have chosen "darkness" over "light" (Mat. 25:41, 46; Jn. 3:19-21; 2Thes. 1:8-10; Rev. 14:11; 20:10-15).

For us to be saved, God had to do something, as unless someone paid for sin then there could not be the complete taking away of sin (Heb. 9:22). So instead of letting mankind go their merry and miserable way to Hell, "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

This Jesus "went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). and after doing everything right, He paid for our sins with his precious, sinless blood in His death on the cross. He then rose from the dead 3 days later, and now sits in Heaven as man's present Savior and future judge.

What you do with Jesus Christ, the righteous Divine Son of God, reveals what you truly ultimately love, and determines where you will spend eternity. To be saved you need to decide that you want Jesus over sin, and ask Him to save you, trusting God to keep His promise to save you by His blood and righteousness. It is best you get alone with God and do not come out until you know you have received Jesus! This decision is shown by being baptized under water in identification with Christ.

As a result of accepting Jesus, then you are forgiven and given the Holy Spirit of Christ, so that you become spiritually alive, which is something that truly changes you!. You will want to know how to serve God according to the Bible, and pray, and be with Christians, etc. It also means that you will be persecuted by others who still want the darkness over Christ. But Jesus promises, as only God can, to be with you to the end of the earth, and you will find Him to be both your strength in time of trouble and deliverer from trials."It will be worth it all when we see Jesus."

I hope and pray that you will!

there are two things, Numberone, examine our heart in the light of Gods law. have you ever lied? stolen? looked with lust? ever used Gods name in vain? if we have done these things we have sinned against God and the penalty for sin is death and hell. The BIble has nothing tosay about purgatory, the BIble says Hell is eternal. The good news is that Christ died for us, taking the punishment we deserve. The way to be forgiven of al sin is to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Christ alone. if you have been saved by trusting in christ alone, then confess your sin and repent of it and move on. The BIble promises that for one who is saved, once they confess there sins, the sin si forgotten and is cast away as far fomr east is to west.
God Bless
