I was just curious if in the bible it says any where that a married woman shouldnt prevent her chances of having kids.

is it wrong for a wife to use Birthcontrol(contraceptivs in general, including hubby using condom)?

Is it wrong if they have like 3 or 4 kids and want to get tubes tied?
or hub a visectomy.

Are women supposed to have as many kids as it happens?

This is NOT a subject about abortion, just prevention.

Christians, you have more in common with Pagans then you could ever possibly know. Every time you decorate a Christmas tree, every time you paint, hide, or hunt an Easter egg, every time you sit your child on Santa’s lap, and every time you send a Valentine’s Day card you become just like them. You become a practitioner of Paganism through Pagan traditions.

Oh, but it’s what you mean by it that matters, right? The star on top of the Christmas tree, that’s the star of Bethlehem. Well, maybe you’re right. It is the intent that matters! And if you don’t INTEND to worship the Devil by continuing Pagan traditions, then what gives you the right to tell Pagans that they are worshipping the Devil through their practices that YOU practice also?

...serve lobster and bacon?

My mom told me about a fundraiser for a Jewish charity that benefits the poor in which there was a tasting of Israeli wines, attended mostly by Jewish people. The article about it that she read said there were lots of delicious-sounding things served, including lobster with bacon.

Why would this be served at a Jewish event?

And why, for that matter, do people who are proud to be Jewish eat lobster and bacon?

I guess it shoudn't matter to me, 'cause I was never Jewish and I only avoid those foods for health reasons, but I am curious.

...that Jesus as a "Hound of Heaven" going after former Christians would ever appeal to us? The imagery turns me right off! I'm a Pagan bisexual woman, not an escapee from a maximum-security prison!

I've heard it before, but I'm asking because of Midge's response to this question.

Does anyone else see the perversion of people in power (i.e. the Christian majority) complaining about those who are tired of their crap? We, atheists, are the most distrusted group in America (and unfairly so) and Christians have the audacity to turn around and say THEY are being attacked! When every corner you turn you see God this and Jesus that and you're trying to slip your beliefs into my laws, of course I'm going to be on the defensive. You bring it on yourselves and if you want change, then I guess you better get to working at it because YOU are the ones who need to change.

I realize I'm not helping my own cause here with this outburst, but there comes a point when enough is enough. I will attack your beliefs and I will ridicule your religion and I will make fun of every last one of you and maybe one day you will understand what it's like to live in our world. On the bottom. Having so much to contribute to the world yet being held down by dogma.

What do you think happens to your soul when you die? Do you think your soul roams the earth, goes to heaven or hell or do you just die. When its over, its over. What do you think?

I'm serious. What could be the reason? If He doesn't want us to have it, why didn't He just leave it out?

It seems like a misnomer to me.

I believe that we are created and evolve. Is that too difficult for people to grasp?

The two concepts are completely intertwined.

Anyway, I don't think anyone truly believes that evolution is false. There's just so much evidence that people evolve. It's just a game they play for fun.

I'm interested in what people think. How do you know when something bad happens to you in this life that it's not negative karma from your past life coming into play - or is it fate? What is Fate? Who or what determines your "fate" in this life? And also, who or what determines what you are reincarnated as into your next life the day you die...How long does reincarnation take?... I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the subject :)

Aren't we meant to believe in "seeing is believing"?
Books say a lot of things so dont come to me saying "the bible..... blah blah blah"

You guys are right, you deserve respect, even if many of us don't agree with your beliefs. But why do you disrespect non-Christians by posting long biblical quotes in response to our answers (I know you don't all do this, this is for people who do.)

This is why it is offensive to me personally:

Although I respect that you consider it your sacred text, it is not mine, therefor your pastes mean no more to me than quotes from the Quran do to you.

It shows you did not take the time to think about your answer much (many of these quotes I get don't even apply! They just say things like :"love the lord God with all your heart" and that type of stuff. It makes me think you didn't even read my question.

But most importantly, it shows you don't respect MY beliefs, because you think I need yours to show me the way, or that I am lost and need to convert, or something to that affect.

Please respect me in this way, and I will show respect toward you and your sacred text. Is anyone with me?
