NO the creationists honestly believe that evolution, at least as far as man goes, is a foolish theory. It is NOT a game, they are quite serious about it and use their beliefs to seriously delude others.
Creationists believe that the bible is totally accurate (although we do know the earth revolves around the sun). They think that the story of Genesis is true when it states that man was created and then God took a rib from Adam and used it to make Eve.
Of course since the King James version of the Bible made all the biblical figures white that means that blacks, and other races don't exist; yet another problem with the story.
Evolutionists believe that man was created by a natural force of natural and he is the ultimate form or an evolution that started from one-cell organisms.
Since their religion and their faith is on the line many people refuse to see what is as plain as the nose on their faces. Just because they had this belief for almost 2000 years they honestly don't want to change their beliefs and refuse to. These people, through a blind denial, ACTUALLY DO believe the Creation is a FACT.
Some of these people are called "Apologists" because they try to make apologies for their religion and bend the religious statements to fit the accepted truth. The most famous example is that the Lord created the world in 6 days and on the 7th day he rested (thus the Sabbath). We have evidence that the world was in existence for millions and millions of years, and that it took billions and billions of years for the earth to form, become a planet, and then a planet that can support life as we know it. The "apologists" say that there is no accounting of how long a day is to God, so it could be billions of years.
The problem is that Jesus was born of woman and he knew very well that a day was approximately 24 hours long. Since Jesus was the Son of God and is a part of God that means God had to know how long a day was. Since God has been always around that means that he had to know how long a day was when he dictated the bible to its early authors.
What the creationists and apologists don't remember is that bible is not the literal truth. It sprung from the man of man and was only INSPIRED by God. This leaves the exact issue of God's existence up for debate though so the apologists and the creationists therefore can't use the Bible to prove the existence of God. Of course a reasoning individual knows that you can't prove a work is true by quoting that work.

Let me see what I can do to make the issue more cloudy for you. In your question you make an ascertain about people who don't "believe" in evolution. Evolution is not a matter of faith and therefore does not require anyone to believe in it or not. Evolution is nothing more then changes in gene frequency over time. Not "believing" that gene frequency changes is akin to to "believing" that there is no such thing as species. It is simply irrational and absurd. The bare fact that species extinction occurs proves that gene frequency changes over time. Once there were Passenger Pigeons but then they experienced a change in gene frequency. The change was of course that they no longer occur. This change was caused by the enviroment, the ecosystem, and about 30,000 hungry active hunters with buckshot. Nothing about that requires belief or faith to accept.
Creationist have faith in a book and the power that it represents. I find it incredibly ironic that of the two competing groups, the Creationist line of decent has a stronger pool of variation and a more prolific breeding lifestyle. They will likely outlast their current competitors and become the dominant expression of our human genome. Evolution at work; their success will simultaneously serve as further proof for the theory and end its use as a theory for understanding the world.

It's not that simple. Just because you don't believe in evolution, doesn't make you a creationist. There are many theories of how organisms came about. Creationists are those who believe that a superior being, God, created the universe, and everything in it. Creationism says that new species are placed here by God, not that they evolved from a distant ancestor. These people prefer to base their opinions on belief instead of scientific evidence.

For the same reason why they come up with the ideal of giant lizards and monkey people, they can't come up with anything else that is much more reasonable and logical.
Imagine that, people who are said to have the most intelligent minds of science above the average person and when asked where do they think that we came from the best theory that they can conjure up is Godzilla and Captain Caveman.
Science has always stretched the truth about things and have even gone as far as to create bogus evidence to prove their theories.
There are no such thing as dinosaurs, there never has been and there never will be and man was created in the image of God not from a bunch of nasty and dumb monkeys.

Creationists believe God created human beings just as they are now. Evolutionist believe we came from apes. Intelligent Designists have a belief that is the two intertwined. Intelligent Designists are former Creationists who are trying to incorporate scientific evidence into their beliefs.
I guess anti-evolutionists are called Creationists by power of deduction - if you're not one you must be the other.

There is a huge spectrum of beliefs about our origins. I am actually writing a paper right now about that topic. It is not so polar as people make it out to be. You are right creationist usually implies a person who believes in the seven literal day biblical creation account. A lot of people don't fit in that category anymore. That is why the term intelligent design was introduced. It is more inclusive towards other ideas.

Creationist believe in the biblical idea of a Creator and His creation of everything tangible around them. They also believe in personal development or evolution of the human mind, spirit, and capacity. Not so much evolution from a Darwin ideal. The Creator is in their mind the author and perfector of life, with a divine plan for each of us.

This is because the proponents of evolution ASSUME that people, who believe otherwise, are automatically, "creationists".
They leave little room for agnostics or even, those who think an alien from space planted a seed and will return to harvest his crop - just kidding ! For an added perspective on evolution, please see: Center for Science and Culture: www.dissentfromdarwin.org - This is a real HUMDINGER !!!

so much evidence? Then how in the world did a bird evolve from a reptile. That one is a little out there, even my biology teacher said that in class. I can see how maybe the others connect, but a bird from a reptile...uh no.
If infact we did evolve, then God planned it but I just don't think about it and believe what the bible says. yes i know i am a naive christian but at least i don't spend days thinking about it.

creationists basically means that if someone believe in a creator rather than believing in evolving. the name creationist already speak for itself. but not everybody who doesnt believe in evolution can be called creationalists. for instance. there are people who believe that aliens are responsible for the fact that we are here
