Many were given forged documents to escape their country and also hidden inside Chruches and Catholic homes. Thousands of Jews were hidden within the Vatican itself and even the Pope's own home.

The Pope initiated all this by writting an encyclical that urged all Catholic Germans to resist the Nazis.

Ok, so someone just left a remark in the question about the gay son that said "don't listen to the atheists" ... can I get a show of hands of non-atheists who think that homosexuality is OK? We atheists would like to know.

I trust that there are a lot of believers out there who are open minded about something as harmless as love.

i believe there is a god but im not sure how he got there or what his name is. i have some christian beliefs in whats right an wrong. but i think theres so many people in the world with diffrent situations how can one say there going to hell because they dont do whats right an wrong? i believe intuition guides us to whats right an wrong, like a conscience. an doing the wrong thing against your conscience would be considered immoral. i also believe the quantum theory that everthing is made of energys vibrating at diffrent levels. but all connected. i believe even plants have energy that people can even feel. i believe in killing for survival purposes only. like killing a deer to eat, or a person if hes robbing your house trying to kill you. i like meditation an studying metaphysics. so does any of these things closly relate to a religion? if i need to add more details i can

how can we respect a religion that tells us we will burn in hell because we don't agree with them, ive never seen an atheist tell a chrstian that they will suffer eternally for disagreeing. (and gays as well)

i say "in general" because 98% of all christians believe we are going to hell, so is ok to me if your not one of them.

before i tell you my thoughts on this one, i'll hear you guys' responses first.

Although the city has a great number of people, however, I heard that the people from the countryside see the devil(satan )far more often then the peoples from the cities...
More then that I also heard that when people from cities see the devil, they become mentally ill , because the devil acctually binds them in what is called ''mentally illness'', and only faith can break this chain of mentall ilness given by the devil. And there are people inside cities having a weak faith, and perhaps the priest also ..is afraid of satan...
But , first , why do the people from the countryside se the devil more often then those from cities...and why they -(from the countryside)don't become ill?Do they have a stronger faith?Just because the sky is nearer? And pray for rain?

Colossians 1:16 - "All things were created through Him and by Him." U were created by God. All of us have sinned against God. He is holy and without sin. Yes, He could've made us robots but, He allowed us to be able to make choices. We all have chosen to do wrong at some time in our lives. Have we ever lied, stolen, fornicated, or broken any 1 of the commandments in Deuteronomy 5:6-22? Yes. But, we are so special to Him that He still provided a way for us to be made right in His sight. The way I speak of is Jesus Christ and He will save us (Romans 10:9-1, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe that God (the Father) has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."). He will forgive us when we repent (to denounce our sins; He will strengthen us) and forgive others that have done wrong to us (Matthew 6:12). For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes will not perish but have everlasting life. -(Jn 3:16 ) Praise God! Choose

If Allah and Jehovah is not the same deity, and there is in fact a ‘hell’ for all the 'non-believers', do you realize that it is just a gamble and that you could be wrong and be sent to hell for betting your soul on the wrong ‘number’?

I mean seriously, if a deity creates a place of endless punishment, I would imagine it more likely to be Allah than Jehovah just by looking at all the beheadings and terrorism in the middle-east done in his name, but then Bush and his propaganda? And history tells us similar tales about Christianity so; do you just flip a coin on this matter?

So you think this country was founded on Christianity?
That thats what our founding father wanted?Well what about what these guys think?:

"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." John Adams- Treaty of Tripoly, article 11

"Every new and successful example, therefore, of a perfect separation between the ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance; and I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in showing that religion and Government will both exist in greater purity the less they are mixed together" James Madison- Letter to Edward Livingston, July 10, 1822

"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man." -Thomas Jefferson

(my personal favorite)

Dont you agree that they had a bigger idea about what was going on and what the idea really meant??

i ask, "what do you think of this?"

and instead of telling me what you think, u tell me im "picking and choosing" that im "creating arguments" and that im wrong this way or that. i never created an argument, and i simply asked what you thought.

do you guys lack that ability or what? this is the 4th time ive asked a question regarding yoru thoughts and u fail to produce a thought related to my question. infact the only people who give me their thoughts on the verse are non-believers.

why is this?

Just recently my son Bobby came out to me. I had been worried for awhile. His teachers said most of his grades were slipping and he seemed depressed and withdrawn.
Bobby said he'd been hiding it for awhile because he was afraid I would reject him. I sat him down and told him that I loved him and that God loved him, but that his salvation was in danger if he did not resist his unnatural tempations. I told him how being gay would mean he would live a shorter life, and that if he couldnt change his orientation he could be celibate like most the ex-gays are. He started crying saying something along the lines of "I knew you wouldnt understand! You're just like everyone else!" before running to his room and slamming the door.

What did I do wrong? I dont want to lose my son, but I fear I already have. I talked it over with his therapist, who had the ludicrous idea that homosexuality was unchangable and that trying to repress could lead to lots of psychological damage (I've dropped him and
