God blesses those who realize their need for him,

You're an Idiot. Just kidding. I'm a christian, and me and my guy friends are always cutting and ranking on each other.
Honestly, you may have to grow a bit thicker skin and not worry so much about what people say. Remember, the truth hurts and while many people can be cruel, constructive criticism is often masked in humor: "Many truths are said in jest." So you need to weigh everything that's said, use the things that you think may help you and let the other role off your back like water on a duck.
Try not to be so sensitive.

The fact of the matter is, a belief in God neither makes you mentally ill, nor an idiot.
The scientific method was infact developed by a Christian, Francis Bacon.
The father of modern economics was a Christian, Adam Smith.
The father of modern physics was a Christian, Isaac Newton.
Charles Darwin professed Christianity when he released "Origin of the species".
I can go on.
The list of people that profess faith in God, and, have had scientific break throughs or great inventions, dwarf inventions/breakthroughs by atheists.
And there is one more thing, atheists cannot explain how DNA developed without violating the second law of thermodynamics, assuming closed system is the entire universe.

Denigration is the ego trip of those who are too lazy to understand their own beliefs. On the other hand, if there wasn't a concept of God, many people would have no one to blame for their situations than themselves, and, most people can't handle that.
