Many were given forged documents to escape their country and also hidden inside Chruches and Catholic homes. Thousands of Jews were hidden within the Vatican itself and even the Pope's own home.

The Pope initiated all this by writting an encyclical that urged all Catholic Germans to resist the Nazis.

I thought that Golda Meir (Former PM of Isreal) attributed a number of 800,000 to Pope Pius' personal intervention. Was it really only 700,000?

Still a big number anyways, I guess. :)

The Pope's silence resulted in the death of millions of Jews.

Books have been written about this.

On the other hand, it is certainly true that individual Catholics risked their lives to save Jews, and the world is indebted to then for these efforts.

Do you know how long it took the Catholics to come around? Saving 700,000 Jews the day before the war ends is no incredible feat.

well Muslims claim they did the same thing in North Africa.

Is not it ironic that we need to advertise acting as human?
